737 Aircraft loses lump of engine in flight.

If the poor woman, who died, had kept her seat belt on (loosely) then she wouldn't have been half sucked out through the window and would probably have survived.

    Replacing fuses with RCD’s

Last time I looked in Robert Dyas and (in London) Ryness, they had carded fuse wire.

    RCD Tripping

There's a good chance that would just be switching the Live, an Earth/ Neutral fault would still be there.

    Atlas Kablo (again)

A piece about this cable has gone up on the BBC's website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41391343

Can a gas meter box be moved?

As long as you're careful about covering over the to-be-unused connection into the drainage system, I can't think of a good reason why you shouldn't connect the side drainpipe to the front one by using something akin to...

Using a blanking plate to indicate safe zone

Just a thought from a total numpty. Would it be acceptable to put a 2 Amp socket (e.g. https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MKK0770.html) on a lighting circuit ? If so, that would give you a connection which could only be used for currents within the circuits capability.

    Cold Water Tank Overflowing

I'm not a plumber, this is based on helping out at some neighbours whose CW tank was overflowing even though the valve, supplying the ball cock, was off. Their problem was found by a proper plumber. You say the HW coming on seems to trigger it. It's possible that comparatively high pressure...

Can my water supplier test the flow rate at the meter?

Markius asked "How did you do the maths to get to 540l/min?" I tend to imagine it's 60 secondsworth of 9l/sec.

How to wire a fused block after trip

Robert Dyas (might be on a nearby high street) usually have fusewire on sale. To this unskilled eye, the meter looks just like the one British Gas fitted for my flat (a few years ago) supposedly as part of the Smart Meter programme.

    replacement MCB's

Living down to my moniker, might the quote mean that (in roughly 2 years time) this setup would no longer be acceptable (anywhere in the EU).

Integrated appliance - choice of unfused plug on fised spur

You could consider using IEC connectors, e.g. https://www.cricklewoodelectronics.com/Mains-Connectors-IEC-Euro.html but I haven't the foggiest as to how practical this is and, I believe, they're rated at less than 13A (maybe 10A).

    CFL or LED

There are some LEDs which give 100 degrees (or more) of light, such as: http://www.alarmsandlightbulbs.co.uk/gu10-light-bulb-24-smd-340-lumen-x-1-bulb-282-p.asp I'm sure plenty more are available but I do understand JohnBoy's point that they're not always too easy to find.

Total novice - changing a two way light switch

When JohnD said "bottom right yellow to the third from right bottom", I believe he meant "third from left bottom".

Why does a condensing boiler create a plume

I can't help feeling that this'll get more accurate answers from "Plumbing and Central Heating", but ... You're right that not all the water is condensed internally, that's because the temperature of the flue gases is their dew-point, i.e. the air is holding as much water vapour as it possibly...

    DIY Rainwater Harvesting ?

The Centre for Alternative Technology (in Machynlleth, Wales) reckons that it's pretty difficult to justify rainwater harvesting to flush domestic toilets: http://info.cat.org.uk/questions/water-and-sewage/can-i-flush-my-toilet-rainwater Cheers, Graham

The plug of a dishwasher starts to melt !

My personal feelings (I'm not a sparky): 1) Yes, get a qualified engineer to change the socket and check the cable inside the wall at the same time. 2) No need to change the flex. Judging by kingdech's photo 7 at 1:39 p.m. on Sunday, the flex is reasonably long. So cut the flex a few inches from...
