Electricity cables in cavity next to door frame

It is totally illegal to run cables in cavity walls as there are still quite a few cavity insulations that dont have a fire ratting. Especially the blown in types. Some do, but many dont.

    Consumer unit quotes

Remember RCBO's are the best way to go as if one trips its only that circuit. But a normal 12 way board with 2 RCD main switches + 12 fuses is around £70-£80 with fuses. If you want RCBO's add around £200, So £280.00 + sundries @ £100 = £380.00 + a fair £500 labour for 1 days work £880.00 +...

Combi for a sealed system ???

I was just thinking of upgrading my gravity hot water system to a sealed system on tank side of things. Sods law the boiler just packed up & we think it might be the heat exchanger @ around £600 + fitting. Now i cant afford to update everything & was thinking of going down the combi route...

    Lighting circuit spurs

We often on larger jobs 2 plated everything, running live & neutral in & out of the switches & a 3 core & earth to each light. We was covered for most eventuality's. We would also fit 35mm boxes every ware. This made fitting light fittings so much easier with just one cable.

Israel uses starvation as a weapon of war, say Israeli sources.

Seems to work well for the Arab/Muslims community's as well

    Toilet bowl empty after flush

Sounds like a 1/2 blockage & you really need that manhole cover off. It will give you the opportunity to rod both ways up or down the soil pipe.

    Gardtec 300

There is quite often an engineers code on alarm systems, so you have to call them out. When your decorator cut the wire, its quite possible he may of blown a fuse in the alarm panel. I would call the engineer & let the decorator pay.

    Unvented with three showers

Hi, looking to ask our plumber to fit an unvented hot water tank as we live in a bungalow & need a better head of pressure for some taps & 2 showers. Now, we fitted a 25mm poly main years ago & have a great flow & pressure, so time for an upgrade. Now most tanks we looked at only have one 22mm...

Israel killing babies and children by disease as well as starvation

Its called a war. Why are people going on about women & children being killed. No bomb or missile can tell us what its going to kill. In world war 2, did the Germans ask the women & children of the UK & many other country's to go to a certain town & we wont bomb it. No! its called war. The Arab...

    Bathroom ceiling paint recommendations.

Just on a separate note, i found my bathroom was very steamy even with a good fan fitted. Good insulation will help, but what really helped with my one was a larger radiator. With more heat i don't even get the mirror misting up.

Stranded PVC cable, and junction boxes under floorboards.

Twin cable were about in the 60's but not the 80's. So you can assume it was an upgrade in the 80's. Instead of fitting RCBO's could you not fit a 17th addition board board fitted with 2 RCD's & a main switch as it will be a lot cheaper than RCBO's. (Around £60 for the board with fuses) The...
