One last question.
What is the best way to attach the capping to the feather boards? The upper rail is well below the top so that can't be used.
Cheers.
One thing. Is there a knack to nailing the series of boards in? If not nailing them together how does the one next to the one being nailed stay still? If you nail it without the other (non-nailed) board being there you might nailit too tight to get even the thin end in.
We have a soak away for the roof gutters that doesn't soak away very well. The slightest rain causes it to overflow. There is some soaking away but very little.
What are the remedies?
Thanks.
Ah, sorry I should have said. I am "interfacing" with the already present remainder of the fence which has "arris rails" of beams that are 78x40mm. As this of the fence is directly opposite our (good) neighbour's conservatory I want it to look the same all the way along for their benefit.
Will...
I lost some featherboard fencing and am left with a gap of 2725mm. I guess I need to put a post in between the existing two - both are very stable and not rotten and are 100mm square. So, a few questions:
Do I need a post of the same size for this gap or will a smaller one do?
How far down does...
So, I have a patio that has "grout" evidently composed of cement and sand. I guess the previous people used a dry mix fill the gaps. It's pretty good but in a few places needs to be topped-up.
The problem is I don't want a 25Kg bag of cement and one of sand hanging around for the next twenty...
No, not a scissor lift an extending pole thing. As usual, I'm going to try a half-@rsed solution first. Yes, maybe if I cut in carefully I can get away wit it. I can't spray it, I'm too clumsy which does not bode well for ladders and poles!
I have ordered a telescopic "thing" now. Seems a bit floppy - dunno how accurate it will be.
Is there a technique that pro's use that we mortals are not allowed to know or do they just go for it!?
I did get quotes but they were around the £2k mark. I'd rather let the house fall down.
I have a gable end to paint that is 5m high. The problem is that thee is a tall fence just 1m from this wall and I cannot put a ladder or anything the other side. A ladder that reaches up the wall is so unstable as it can't get back away from the wall far enough.
What is the best way to paint...
