External paint that is not breatheable

the report identified a few factors that are causing mould on the walls and damp readings. The others I am aware of so I can sort out myself but this one about the external paint not being breatheable is a new one to me. I have never heard of such a thing before and when I googled it, it said...

External paint that is not breatheable

The home survey identified damp and condensation and recommended that we get a damp survey with a specialist company that is a member of the the PCA, who are not damp treatment companies but damp specialist surveyors who only identify damp and recommend actions. That way they are independent as...

External paint that is not breatheable

My FIL is looking to buy a one bed maisonette. The damp survey has flagged up that the external walls has been painted in non breatheable paint so it is recommended that this should be removed and repainted with breatheable masonry paint. Anyone come across this before? How much do you think...

    Warped garage door

that is true! I think i could put a bolt outside the door on the floor that can turn upwards when the door is closed. that way it doesn't have to be screwed into the door.

    Warped garage door

actually this gives me an idea. i don't need a hole the size of a hand, just one that is big enough for me to put a bolt through that can pull the internal bolt, which I can put on the inside of the door.

    Warped garage door

My garage door has become warped at the bottom so that there is a gap when the door is closed as shown in the first pic. I only use for storage and not for the car. Any ideas on how I can get it to close flush? I need to lock the bottom part of the door. The one on the left has a bolt into...

    Double socket converter

hadn't realised they were thicker than the normal socket but thinking about it, it has to be as the plug pins are quite deep so the socket has to be at least that deep on the surface mounted side, where is no back box space. i think i will leave this idea as it will be less uggly and less work...

    Double socket converter

they seem to be simpler than having to cut a bigger hole for the back box. seems too good to be true, which is why I am asking.

    Double socket converter

I am thinking of changing a single socket to a double socket and it seems there is a conversion socket where you don't need to change the back box. One shown below for example. Anyone used one of these before and can advise on if they are a good idea? Thanks...

    Flat expansion vessel

are they useless? my system doesn't have an external filling loop but the internal filling valve does look quite fragile!

    Flat expansion vessel

there is no external filling loop for this boiler. only the one that is in the boiler itself. it has a plastic blue lever that you can pull down to let more water into the system. that filling valve was faulty and didn't shut off properly so it was slowly letting water into the system all the...
