If the rads all get hot throughout then no need for a powerflush. However... A drain down and running cleaner through the system for a week, then draining again is always good maintenance. PowerFlushing mini bore would not be fun.

New boiler as well so potentially flow and return was reversed there during install! Edit: for both manifolds not to be working, having worked previously before for many years, the problem lies upstream and what has changed recently! The boiler! Would be my first port of call. What model boiler...

I'd go with the batten across to studs. But may also be to bring cistern out to line up with soil as mentioned above... Depends on age and type of property.

Have you tried another pair of nostrils? Olfactory senses can be a bit weird... Once your brain declares it has detected an odour, it will continue to convince you it is always there! Get someone else to have a whiff, but don't prime them with your convictions if at all possible :)

Block up the cistern overflow as new one most likely to be internal overflow... Down the pan... Or it should be!

If the boiler has pumps "on it" that would suggest a system boiler! Can you not call their tech dept and ask if it's suitable for a one pipe system and how it should be incorporated?

I'm a plumber and heating engineer... I don't waste my time with the crap supplied by any sink manufacturer... Unless they've put mcalpine in the box!

Soon as customer says they've bought an IKEA sink, I stop by my merchants and pick up waste and trap kit... And I tell them I'll be doing this... I don't ask.
