Replacing fluorescent light with LED Batten light and adding 2 additional leds

Thanks for the reply. Ok the layout is as follows, entrance door with switch on wall to the left. The JB is half way along the garage roof beam approximately 4 to 4 1/2 m away from the switch. One of the new proposed lights would be in between the switch and the sensor pre-existing light and...

Deadlock Nightlatch Key Stiff when mounting screws tightened

I try to leave the outcome in case it helps others. To be precise I user a wrench to adjust the angle of the 2 ears that the latch screws on to on the mounting plate until I found the angle at which the lock no longer binds.

Deadlock Nightlatch Key Stiff when mounting screws tightened

Thanks for the reply. The place hasn’t been moved. It’s just the two little tongues that have the threads for the mountain screws have been adjusted. I hope this doesn’t mean I need to get a new night latch

Deadlock Nightlatch Key Stiff when mounting screws tightened

Hi All. This lock used to work well until one day we tried to open the front door and the nightlatch fell off leaving us locked out. We gained access and found the nightlach had come off its mounting plate. We put it back on and noticed it didn’t sit flush to the door on one side. We adjusted...

How to deglaze aluminium / wood door after vandalism

Last night somebody put the window through on our front door. We have no idea why we think it might be connected to my son’s ex-girlfriend and her jealous boyfriend but we have no way of proving it. In any case, we need to remove the glass and replace it with plywood on the internal side. The...

2 Gang 1 Way Light switch arcing and burning

Okay, I’ll go and get another switch this morning. There is earth Going To The box in the wall but I noticed there was no earth going from the metal box to the switch itself and assumed that it would be earthed through the metal screws.
