Help Identifying/Sourcing Snap-fix Glazing Bar Caps for Conservatory Roof

I would make a detailed drawing of the design, with as many measurements as you can. I built a conservatory early 90’s with plastic capping and later had to buy a new system as the plastic capping suffered UV damage. I replaced with an all aluminium one.

    England council results

I did a quick google search and Boris and Truss had worse scores. But as said, local elections don’t relate to general election results. It’s amazing how many voters don’t seem to understand the differences. In a way, local election wins for Reform could be seen as a way for the electorate to...

    Square O rings?

How much are the correct washers each? Buy ten and sell the rest to cover P&P. Presumably you have searched for “square profile O rings” and the like. But as said, until they closed down, I used to travel across town to buy from a local rubber specialist (oh er!) and risk a parking fine or buy...

Locking a gate from both sides

You could simply fix a chain/ cable to the gate inside on the right, going to a pulley with a counterweight ? To pretty it up, put the counterweight in a tube. Some smaller garden gates fit springs to close them. The fire door between my laundry room and garage uses a spring loaded lever...

    Soundproofing?

If the garage has room, using rockwool and plasterboard would help make it more soundproof. You could just do the hall wall and do area. As said, a fire door well fitted with no holes helps. You could get magnetic seals routed into the door and frame.

    Suggestions for anchoring metal pergola

If you mean that you hoped to cement the brick to the concrete, you’ll be lucky. Even using a strong epoxy type adhesive in place of mortar to hold the brick paver won’t survive wind on a structure. Especially if there’s a roof or plating. The link above shows rally long concrete screws that...

No Water after Mains Switch-off, What to Check?

Could there be a solenoid valve hidden somewhere? A type that detects water pressure and switches off when pressure drops as it thinks there is a flood? Trouble is, finding it.

    Sound insulating a party wall.

When you put the second layer of plasterboard on, ensure that the joins are staggered. It helps if you think about the seams when putting up the first layer. Use some of the mastic on the seams

How to taper a decking board

You might find hiring a circular saw a better bet. Or even buying a Lidl/aldi one. However, if you have no option but to use a hand saw, use a new one. They are so cheap If you have a spare decking board long enough, use it as a guide. If not, buy a sacrificial board from the shop. Not a...

Should all central heating pipes be lagged ideally?

Lagging makes the pipe larger, so the boxing ends up bigger. You could lag pipes in an area that you want to keep heat from? Maybe a hall floor or landings. Obviously anything in an attic or waste area. As you say, pipes are going everywhere, and plastic tends to go into inaccessible ares so...

Locking a gate from both sides

I have a gatemate and it’s been good for knocking on ten years. I do have a flap of waterproof material covering the mechanism (as seen on the backs of trucks) Don’t know if it helped but doesn’t do any harm
