Yes, you read me like a book. ATE SL.6 is a poor substitute for the dealer stuff. I wonder who the OEM was? I wouldn't mind getting some of that. But my current large jug of SL.6 could take a long time to get rid of. I already paid, and might as well use it. I think it has poor compatibility...

Sorted now. All the valves in my traction control system were fully or partially seized from infrequent use. I don't use brakes much when I drive. The fix is using super magnets from old hard drive to drag the valve stems about to free up the valves. The only cleaning agent needed is a very...

Compatibility check by ebay is very good, at least for my car. With experience, you can even buy the right part when ebay doesn't say it is compatible. Failing all of that, be prepared to nitpick product details to get refund. The current ebay refund policy is right up there with aliexpress...

Here's someone's attempt to fix a valve. I will do that first before trying other options. Brake fluid is a cleaning solution and can be used for dissolving a weak clog by applying it from the blocked and dry side. I will use strong magnets to try shifting the valve stem.

I found a similar case to mine and the guy replaced the hydraulic block and pump of the ABS unit to fix the problem. So, the ABS unit is the most probable cause of the problem: one of the valves in the hydraulic block failed, or the electrical coil of the valve in the control module had burnt...

It has 2 pressure sensors. There is a split, but I don't know which way. Bleeding brakes for 3 other wheels were fine but the rock hard pedal had no effect in pushing fluid out from the front right driver side. Nor could I push the pedal down. Activating the ABS on the right side allowed the...

I was missing some ham in my fist to spin the heavy caliper. But all that is in the past now, everything is back together. Now I have to work out why no fluid in the line. I have no codes, and my ABS pump seems to be working from the activation buzzing.

Ok, what tells you it's a recon?

If you have the skill, you wouldn't need to be deliberate. The right part will just come to you. You just need to set up the conditions for such an occurrence. Sounds to me you have made this error before. I haven't, and never had to play with the hoses. The 22 year old hose was in perfect...

Exchange just means you exchange the old one for a new one. There is no guarantee it's a recon. In any case, I am not going to spend any more to return the old one. The ebay seller didn't ask for it.

Not really. The caliper was simply too heavy for my hand to spin it back onto the hose. If my hand was more substantial with ham, it could have worked. This issue appeared to be a common occurrence and others suffered from it also. But it's just one of those things that came with experience...

It may not be recon, could be brand new. Cross threaded the hose connector and I don't want to get into retapping. The dust boot on the old one was broken anyway. Fixing the old one up could cost more than a new one.

It's better to have buying skills than sarcasm, though. I broke my caliper. I went to buy the cheapest OEM replacement. So, they sent me an OE (probably remanufactured) unit instead.

They are separate in the back box. Since the house builder did that, I can assume that's proper because nothing else is wrong.

    Miswired light switch

No. The actual diagram would be a 1 way switch connected to the bulb directly. It wasn't obvious to me at the beginning where the neutral was. I thought it was in the switch.

I was talking about the structure. Maybe you just don't know how to buy. Always buy something similar to what you have already. You can hardly go wrong. How did you miss the massive tubes on the nissens?

Google says T&E is travel and expenses. I am sure that isn't the meaning here :)

    Miswired light switch

The back box is plastic and nowhere to connect the earths. The earth conductors are sleeved and not exposed on the cut end. I suppose that's good enough?

The switch is for two sets of bulbs in the kitchen. There is fire alarm in the hallway outside the kitchen.
