    Miswired light switch

Thanks. I don't deal with electric frequent enough to come across this before. So, the conclusion is the wiring is fine.

    Miswired light switch

Yes, I just got it now. A circuit diagram helps. The neutral is elsewhere! My set up is switch direct to bulb and nothing in between. Curtesy of screwfix:

    Miswired light switch

I am not trying to do anything. I am trying to work out if it's wired properly, and trying to understand why the red wires have different positions. If switch is on, then black is connected to the corresponding red and lights up neon.

    Miswired light switch

With the switches off, the black wires don't light up the neon tester, only the reds do. There is red sleeve for the left black. As you can see, no sleeve on the right one.

    Miswired light switch

Yes, it works. I just know the reds are live. The switches each connect to a separate cable comprising red, black, and earth.

What does "extract their digits" mean?

    Miswired light switch

Well, left switch has neutral at top and live at bottom. But, the right switch has live at top and neutral at bottom. Doesn't that mean one of the switches allows live to reach the bulb even after switch off?

    Miswired light switch

I am looking at a 2 gang light switch that looks miswired by the house builder. Can anyone tell me how to correct this please? I confirmed the 2 red wires are live. The earth wires are not connected to anything, which seems risky because they could potentially make contact with something. One...

    RTS turn off

OK, RTS switched off for me as well. But everything is working as it should on peak rate, including the electric element for the normally gas-heated hot water tank. Some time ago the supplier said they were reducing my cost. Presumably they switched me over to a single rate that was cheaper than...

    RTS turn off

Google: The Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) is being phased out starting from 30 June 2025, with a final shutdown occurring in June 2026. This affects older electricity meters, often used for electric heating/hot water. Customers must contact their energy supplier immediately to arrange a free...

    RTS turn off

Just searched and google said turn off in June. I will see overnight if the night rate is still spinning on meter.

    The study of a radiator

Your son had no problems, I have no problems, that leaves you as the odd one out. My 3L runs fine with a radiator that is 40-50% lighter/thinner. It also ran fine with 40-50% of the coolant missing. Your overheating is most likely to do with your messing up. Through carelessness, you probably...

    The study of a radiator

That tells me you have something else that isn't working. My car ran fine with 4 litres of coolant leaked out on the road after collision. Although it was cold weather at the time. I don't need better cooling. I need thicker materials to play bumper cars. Nissens would work out better for me...

    The study of a radiator

Mahle-Behr is all over ebay. For the E46, there is the cheaper standard one and a premium-line one. I am guessing the materials are thicker on the premium and more able to resist bumps. Since it isn't OEM, a Nissen one might be no worse. Nissen has a single model, presumably matching the...

    The study of a radiator

Surprisingly, Modine is an american company. This would suggest chinese branded radiators would be closer to OEM than german Mahle-Behr. Generally, the chinese stuff are largely american tech.

A lighter part increases vehicle performance, though. Also it isn't up to you to decide what is and isn't a mod. The insurer will.
