    M25

About the video - if I'm not mistaken an early stretch of the M1, Watford to Crick, built by Laing in the late 1950s, was originally concrete but later dug up and replaced with tarmac.

    M25

    Interesting. Confirms the 117 miles.

    M25

Yes, I know, a couple of miles of it. I think I must be remembering the mileage figures wrong from the signs, it's a long while ago.

    M25

I did a pub quiz last night and a question was what is the length of the M25? Answer given as 118 miles (and Google agrees). I thought it was more than that and got it wrong. I remember many years ago joining the M25 from the M23, and the signs said Services westbound 85 miles, Services...

Is it just a coincidence that those killers that claim diminished responsibility after a murder..

We wouldn't but it's a fair assumption. I was half joking anyway

Strange how voices always tell them to kill somebody, never to help an old lady across a road.

    Willis Heating System

I wouldn't think so, but if somebody's tried it, the proof of the pudding.... To save me reading the whole thread, what is the advantage of the Willis system? Where does the heat come from?

    Magnetic filter.

Hasn't been a problem. I tighten and remove the magnet by hand, don't need the plastic wrench thingy

    Sentinel inhibitor

AFAIK it's just an inhibitor. There are other Sentinel products for cleaning, plenty of info on the web.

Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

Is that a pair of alternatives? Iran subsidises Iran's proxies. Who do you mean might start WW3? Not clear what you're saying.

Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

Quite, so the strikes didn't remove it. Important to get rid of the regime, as otherwise they'll be more determined to get the bomb.

Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

I believe the consensus is it didn't.

    Magnetic filter.

If it's any help, here's a pic of my Magnaclean, installed (by me) in 2010.

    Strange gas pressure drop

No, it's a system boiler, not a combi

    Magnetic filter.

A filter is very useful for sampling the water to do an annual bright wire nail test, and for adding more inhibitor if needed.

I think we have had it

What's that got to do with it?

I think we have had it

Yes, it's a myth that they came to help Britain. They came to get work and a better life here. There's nothing at all wrong with that, we're familiar with Adam Smith's work, but they didn't come out of altruism.

    Strange gas pressure drop

My bad, the manual does give minimum inlet pressure, at the test point. It's on page 37, says 15mb for the ecoTEC plus 637. There'll be some loss before that point, gas iso valve etc. There doesn't appear to be test point upstream of that, so unless one is added on the pipe just before the...

    Strange gas pressure drop

Interesting. I haven't (yet) found a manual which gives actual required gas pressure, but several of them say 20mb (nominal) which is something!

    Strange gas pressure drop

I wasn't trying to tell you anything you didn't know! I remember seeing a boiler manual which specified an actual pressure requirement. I'll try to find it.
