    Smoothing/levelling over a 1960's bitumen sub floor.

Off the top of my head, @dazlight might be able to advise you.

Sealants/adhesives/Hybrids -Fitting anyone using 'hybrids' to secure/seal to walll?

Or BT1?- have never used BT1 but I have noticed that in dark bathrooms (ones without much sunlight), CT1 may yellow in time.

    Sap and knots

BTW, the knot in image 3- slide a slice of plastic rubble sack under it and then pack it up with scraps of plasterboard until it is level with the underside of the skirting board. You will then be able to fill it with 2 pack filler. The plastic will pull away after sanding. If you hit the knot...

Swapped a hinged wooden door for a glass sliding door

What does it look like in your house though? I note that you lifted the image from the sellers site. Did you remove the door liner and plasterboard the opening first? Sliding doors are definitely space saving, but in some cases a pocket door might be a better option in terms of fire rating...

    Sap and knots

The sap can be removed with white spirit but I would recommend waiting a few days before painting. It is likely to weep for a while. I had to hang doors for a mate a while ago. The new door stops were extremely resinous. So much so that a lot dripped on to the new laminate flooring that I had...

    Removing Wall Anchors - Help!

I do the same. Works in most cases. When it doesn't, I try to punch them below the surface (and then fill). The HSS drill idea makes perfect sense.

Best way to sand floorboards around radiators?

The Jenkins stuff is good. https://restorate.co.uk/products/jenkins-gel-joint-gap-filler I hardens really quickly so don't mix too much in one go. I use cut up plastic milk bottles to mix it in with the saw dust.

    Replacing Sash Window Glass

AFAIK, if you are replacing the glass in the lower sashes, and any of that glass is less than 800mm from the floor, it needs to be toughened glass (or laminated glass). Laminated glass will be much thicker and heavier though.

Best way to sand floorboards around radiators?

If the floor varnish is oil based, you can use old skool methyl chloride paint stripper to remove the varnish. If the stain is oil based you can hit is a few coats of white spirit and then sand it. If waterbased, cellulose thinners will soften the waterbased varnish. If you want to purchase a...

    Wood behind plasterboard

My stepson once purchased a 1980s building. The bathroom wall/hallway wall were 9.5mm plasterboard glued to 25mm plasterboard (which in turn was glued to another 9.5mm). The wall was held in place by 1" by 1" timber at the top and bottom.

    A missing friend

...Perhaps... but I used to see GD posts in the New Posts tab. They would look quite innocent, then you click on them and it is full of the usual racists. I come here to try and help other people and to receive advice. If I want to see those kind of posts, will go to the likes of StormFront.

I used to rate Malware Bytes but it went from being a completely free product to one which constantly tries to get you to enter your bank details. That said MBAM. EXE helped me on multiple occassions.

I have no idea but there are apps will let you identify plants- often the first search will be free.

    A missing friend

The mods now have a option in the settings which will enable you to not see the GD subforum. I requested it. I don't come here to read "toxic" posts.

    A missing friend

I sincerely hope he is OK. An erstwhile long standing and knowledgeable member of this site disappeared because of the politics in the General forum. AFAIK he is still OK. He did come back under new account... and then mocked me for not instantly recognising him. @EFLImpudence is a top fellow...

Years ago my accountant contacted me. He had been to "adult" sites and didn't realise that he had signed up to MBS (Micro Bill Systems). MBS pretty much hijacked his PC. On day one, on booting the PC he had a splash screen which took 10 seconds to disappear. After each reboot the splash screen...

But then you would see two wifi networks with the same name. Does having a VPN mean that DNS requests go through the VPN provider? I should know the answer but it has been years since I got rid of my VPS with an open source VPN. If the DNS requests are intercepted by the guy with the laptop, I...

SOLVED - A Question about Eurostyle Lock Replacement in uPVC doors

The locks that look like the cylinder screws are missing- if you put the key in and twist it, is there a possibility of pulling the cylinder out? If not, I think you need to defer to someone like @crank39 or @ronniecabers . There are other knowledgeable people here but those are two names that...
