    Roads that give cyclists priority.

Of course, I do, I drive a car as well. But there are two types of cyclist, those who use a bike to get from A to B at a leisurely pace, and the they both ride bikes, but at 75 my top speed is around 10–15 MPH, and at that speed sharing with pedestrians is not a problem. But the Lycia warrior...

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

Spot on, I can't see how it can safely work. And it does not matter what amendment 3 says, manufacturers are not going to recall products to add to them the load etc. As to "Line" is that a miss print? see page 9 it does it seem to require RCD/RCBOs to be labelled, but as far as plug in solar...

Plug in balcony solar UK , just a Lidl question

Not what I expected the battery pack seems to integrate with an inverter. efixx says now available but hunt on Lidi website brings up nothing. The Marstek energy website shows some details, it seems it fits between the panels and the inverter, so it can store and release energy, but can't see...

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

Yes, not seen a 230 volt rated fluorescent light with a magnetic ballast that will work with a 209.7 volt supply, i.e. 6% drop on supply voltage and then 3% drop within the premises. 209.7 to 253 volts is a massive range. But switch mode power supplies have no problem with that range. Sockets...

    Roads that give cyclists priority.

We have old railway lines and canals made into cycle and pedestrian ways only so this is by no means the first, we also have footpaths in residential areas on which cyclists are allowed. But the problem is where those who do the maintenance have no idea of what it is like to walk or cycle in...

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

Oh, did not realise it used multi-tubes, it will not work with LED without rewiring.

    Octopus Smart meter.

I did not want a smart meter, and I resisted, until not having one was going to cost me money. I do believe they can be fitted in a dumb mode, and my smart meter came in two parts, the top part does the coms work. But I still can't read the smart meter direct. Two buttons control the display...

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

I am sure you remember the voltage optimizers, the whole reason for these was the excessive current drawn by fluorescent fitting when they had over voltage.

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

Neither am I, a month as a unit of time, unless specified otherwise, is no law 28 days. In the same way as a ton is 20 cwt, you have to say metric ton, if that's what you mean. As to BS 1363, BS 7671, G98, G99 etc. These can all be altered, but as far as identifying unidirectional RCD/RCBOs...

Should these isolation switches have guards

    I have a drill, I think I know what I would do!

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

The main problem with fluorescent lights was the tight voltage range. Over the years we have seen voltage optimisers come and go to try and adjust the voltage. I was working on the building of Sizewell 'B' and we had a ring of tunnels to put temporary lighting in. So the boss got some 110 volt...

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

I have read about the changes in the way inverters react when we have a power brown out etc. And it seems it has changed to stop a domino effect. However, exactly what those changes are I am not sure. With 50 Hz that's 10 ms between each peak. But the time between losing supply to...

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

Even with a magnetic ballast, taking the ballast out makes the lamp more efficient.

Should these isolation switches have guards

Normally they can be locked either on or off.

    Flourescent tube for kitchen lighting.

Basic wiring above. With the starter as below, but starter is only a fuse, not really required. In the main LED replacement tubes for fluorescent lamps only work with magnetic ballasts, exception is some 2D fittings, so there are versions that will work, but rare.

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

My error "shut down is not delayed" should have been "shut down is delayed" sorry.

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

I believe the "proper ones" are designed so over/under-voltage and out of frequency shut down is not delayed, so stop a short blip in the supply causing 1000s of solar panels all disconnecting together which could bring down the grid. Where the plug in type disconnect faster. However, it...

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

So you think there should be an instruction with plug in solar not to press the test button on an RCD/RCBO when the plug in solar is plugged in, and that is enough? Maybe it is enough, but goes against the grain. Remember plug in solar is designed for tenants, do you think tenants will worry...

Non-bidirectional RCD/RCBO feeding sockets, should they get a code C2 with EICR?

I think it was @JohnW2 who pointed out for the RCD/RCBO to fail it needs to test button to be pressed, while the flow is reversed, but from 10 am to 6 pm today flow was reversed, so there is a reasonable chance of the button being pressed at the wrong time. I looked at data sheets, non seem to...

Please put me out of my misery - two by double switch in an old house - lots of dodge/cut wires

Count is wrong, two yellows, and two blues and one black should mean three reds, I can only see two.
