    Boxing these pipes

I did consider extending the ceiling by boxing the whole lot. The ceiling would be extended at the same level and then straight up. I could then fit the coving to this section, as you are suggesting. However, to the right the pipe goes into the slope of the stairs. It pierces through the bottom...

    Incinerator

Another thought on this. Can I use a Recip saw (with metal blade) to cut out the top? Is that a safe option? Freaked out slightly by the earlier comments on the safety of a grinder.

    Boxing these pipes

I want to box it in, in a way that looks tidy. It measures 7.5 cm to the top of the pipe, from the wall. I thought I would need to batten and MDF it...

Can I get some suggestions on how I should box this pipe up please? Thanks in advance.

    Basin waste

I’ve read lots of good stuff about the Thomas Dudley kit. Do you guys use that and recommend it in this situation?

    Basin waste

But I’m not changing anything at the tap end. This piece will be dangling under the basin but connected to the tap as it was. Are they normally prone to leaking as I’m not increasing that risk?

    Basin waste

Sorry which area do I check for future leaks?

    Basin waste

Ah, I get it now. Can I leave this bit (circled in black) hanging under the sink and fit a normal push waste? Won’t need to silicone the tap hole then, if I’ve understood correctly.

    Incinerator

Oh wow. Thanks @stevie888. I can see through the hole at the top that it’s largely empty but it still has some remains of oil in the barrel. Is this dangerous too? I have a bolster and hammer. Will that go through the top? Also, is it still safe to drill the holes at the bottom of the barrel...

    Basin waste

It’s the silver bit that needs to be replaced. But want it to connect into the existing overflow stick thing.

    Basin waste

I need to replace one of these: This looks pretty close but not an exact match, will it work as I want to tie in the existing overflow fitting. https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-slotted-pop-up-basin-waste-with-lever-chrome-plated-brass-32mm/921jn?ref=SFAppShare Finally, I’ve seen a lot...

    Incinerator

Also, do I use a grinder for the top and is there a knack to this?

    Incinerator

With your 5 years of life, have you left it out in the rain when not used or taken any special precautions?

Anywhere around the bottom blue banding? What’s the best drill device for this 40mm hole?

    Incinerator

I’ve had a few galvanised incinerators over the years. They are too small and rust away within a year. I’ve now acquired one of these: How can I convert this to a long lasting incinerator please? Thanks for your help.

Any thoughts on the above would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

    Bath tap issue

What’s a rubber band in this situation?

    Bath tap issue

I can slacken the tap nuts and reposition to make sure it’s central and the seal is positioned appropriately. Is there anything that can be fitted in to the tap to give it an extended nozzle? Also, should I apply some silicone around the tap?

    Bath tap issue

Water shouldn’t seep through but it also shouldn’t collect at the base of the tap? Over time, this is probably testing the defense of the rubber tap seal? I think the issue wasn’t helped by the cartridge which was causing a small drip in the tap. I’ve now replaced both cartridges. But even...
