Is this normal...painting wardrobe doors....advice needed please

Ok. You are not putting enough on I suspect. Waterbased paint needs to be applied to the point it's starting to run however, you don't want it to run. People apply to around 30 microns when you want to be nearer 100 depending on the paint spec. You can buy a paint depth comb cheap to test...

    0.8m x0.6m 12.5mm board repair

I've never measured as I mix to how I want it. Sometimes really think so it holds in place with no slump, and sometimes thin so I can fine fill large surfaces quickly. Having a wetter mix will slow setting and adding water as it starts to set will extend setting time. I mix to ice-cream...

    0.8m x0.6m 12.5mm board repair

I just use a small rubber mixing pot and a silicone cooking spatula to mix powder. Takes seconds and keep mixing in small batches and I hate throwing any filler away. You can sand when dry so probably tomorrow although shallow fills takes a couple of hours to dry

Enlarging existing loft hatch to install new hatch and ladder. Is my thinking right?

You could get rid of yellow and put in blue. Loft hatch would be wider and the frame could be tight to wall. Whatever you think is best. Not saying my plan is better

Quarry tiles? How to cover them

Asbestos tiles are often like brittle thin plastic. Houses in 60s and 70s had them fitted from new and looked a bit like marble effect sometimes. Considered low risk. Often not stuck down very well as I took all mine up in 7 rooms in about an hour. Boxed UK and took to the tip. Carpet fitters...

    Repairing plaster wall around socket

You only need a handful of filler for that. Like I said I use toupret but Wickes sell and own brand powder filler £6, that will do. It's so small. Just push in. Better to turn power off and move sockets away from wall. Hold this thought. Next time consider. Spacing makes job easier. Neat...

PIR Board Installation in Pitched Roof Loft - Concerns Over Installation

It's the bottom that's the problem as the gap narrows. You need to keep a 50mm space from the insulation to felt. You will need a wall around the edge I guess to block the gap with insulation. Then with vented soffit and vents in the roof near the top the air will blow through. I used therma...

Cutting a kitchen worktop to fit between two wall

No expansion room required. Use something to determine if the back and side wall is square as you can cut worktop tight but and angle will foul it. 2mm gap I'd say would be tight. You can have 4mm so 2mm either end as tiles or silicone will cover..
