    Paint drying time?

I'd use the cheap HVLP from Screwfix and spray it because of the slates. Stuff trying to coat them with a roller and brush.. With waterbased you have to be quick ISH as after 5 mins it starts to skin. You need to get plenty on and let it settle. Often people apply around 40 microns when you...

    Replacing a sectional garage roof

My neighbour had an asbestos garage roof removed around 2021 for £550. Took 2 hours. Probably cost more now. Then you have to put on a new roof. OSB board and felt maybe. Look up the many posts on this forum regarding OSB garage roof... Or you could go down the metal sheets but that can get...

Why is there a batten behind my cistern?

Could be a way to take the weight on the wall. Many toilets get swapped and the soil pipe causes a problem with lining up so cisterns are packed out. They OP will have to decide if this is the case. So maybe I'm right or maybe I'm wrong @Alec_t

Why is there a batten behind my cistern?

To pack the toilet out from wall maybe. The soil pipe coupling might not be in the correct place for toilet, so it was moved away from wall to line up

Painting a metal garage door with rust.

20mm tungsten scraper and sand. You need to remove as much rust manually as you can. You can buy rust treatment but it won't work very well on deap rust, just use on what's left. 2 pack resin filler. Sand Paint. I would consider a cover strip, as there looks like a joint which is letting...
