    Worcester Combi pressure loss

Found it!!! The plumber who put the new pipes in had put a short length on, under floorboards not up, and hadn't fitted the connector properly. Fortunately our new plumber knows what he's about and has a good sense of hearing.

    Worcester Combi pressure loss

The gas fitter hasn't checked the expansion as he didn't have a foot pump. The pressure does rise rapidly when the loop valve is open. No sign of water from the blow off. Sorry, the pressure does drop virtually to zero within 15 minutes.

    Worcester Combi pressure loss

We've recently installed new pipework and fitted 4 new radiators as well as pipework for 2 towel rails yet to be fitted. After pumping the system to 2 bar there is a rapid decrease to 1 bar or less. We've partially bled the radiators (still air trapped in the system - it's taking time to bleed)...

Fitting a back to wall toilet

I'm about to have fitted a back to wall toilet and am wondering how I should box in for access. The whole bathroom is to be tiled. Any tips please? Also, the chrome flush button is relatively small, anyone know of where I'd get a fancy replacement? Many thanks

    System test and new concrete.

I'm not sure he was referring to an air test. More to do with putting the combi on - I think. Looks like I need to lift the concrete before it sets. Must be a lesson for me somewhere here. Beware of logo t-shirts and fancy vans.???

    System test and new concrete.

Having renovations done to an old flat ( installing new showerroom and kitchen). The PVC pipe work, with pushfitting joints, is in concrete. The system hasn't yet been tested and the 'plumber' has concreted them in. When I expressed concerns he says if there is a leak the pressure will drop...

    Hanging Radiators

Given that the wall is newly plastered, how will he locate the vertical studs? (Annoying as the plumber was about and supporting noggins could have been put in before plastering)

    Hanging Radiators

I'm having some new radiators installed on a lattice and lime wall and worried that the wall won't take the weight. The guy doing it said with new type fixes you could swing off the brackets, they can hold so much weight. What are these fixing screws/brackets? Also the walls are newly...

    Showers

I'm wanting to install a concealed thermostatic shower from a combi boiler. Must I install a pump? The one I'm consiering says it needs high pressure.

    Radiators

I'm replacing radiators. As well as thinking about heat output, should I take anyhing else in to account? I actually prefer the look of rounded topped ones (the house is Victorian) and they seem slimmer but the equivalent size with the grilled tops give out higher btu.

    Ensuite ventilation

Many thanks for these comments. Yes I've submitted the notification. The work is to be carried out and certificated by an electrician. When getting the quotes, there were different opinions about taking it out under the floorboards, our preferred way rather than having plastic casing along the...

    Ensuite ventilation

I'm adding an ensuite to my groundfloor flat bedroom and would like to lead the ducting under the floor. It's about a 4m run to the external wall. It's an old house with 30cm spare under the boards, the walls are thick but there is an airbrick on the external wall. (The ensuite will be...

Radiator pipe work in cement floor

I need to lay new waste pipe through a concrete floor but am worried about the central heating pipes run across the channel run (damaging them when breaking through the concrete). Any advice or comments?

    Venting an ensuite

Thanks folks. Can't take it through the roof though, it's a ground floor apartment of a 3 storey old terrace. Sounds like I'll have to have something along the top of the bedroom wall going out to the external wall.

    Venting an ensuite

Any tips on the easiest way of doing this? The en-suite will be in the centre of the house with no immediate access to outside wall. It is close to a boxed in fireplace / chimney breast though.

Electric or gas water heated shower

I'm looking to install a new en-suite. If I go for an electric shower, am I likely to have fewer problems with pressure? Also is it likely to be cheaper to install? (I'm presuming usage costs would be cheaper running off the combi boiler??)

    Combi Boiler in the bedroom

I'm converting an existing kitchen to a bedroom and thinking of leaving the combi boiler (boxed in) where it is. Is this OK?

Insufficient water for washing and rinsing

I think I've resolved the problem. Some of the holes (There are about 30) that the water comes through into the soap dispenser were clogged. This appeared to limit the amount of water getting through to the drum. It's definitely better since we gave it a brush but we intend pulling the machine...
