I used Ronseal wet wood hardener on the rotten wood after I scraped the loose stuff out as it states that it turns rotten wood hard. I then filled with Everbuild wood filler (a single tube) sanded when dry and primed. Then painted with Weathershield.

The putty isn't blistering, it's the paint which is clearly illustrated. I'm over the putty now but it's getting personal with the paint and "Everbuild" so called wood filler.

Well I sanded the surface down and painted again and overnight it has already started bubbling with NO rain. I just can't believe this!

You try taking that failed putty (bad batch) out and the glass. It isn't easy. I'll ignore the supercilious sarcasm.

Even worse I have just discovered. I have treated it with Ronseal wet wood hardener and will fill. What other option do I have?

I'll sand it down and give another coat.

And it has got worse, bubbling up. So much for Weathwrseal paint!

You can't fix a wood floor to a concrete subfloor. I'll just have to make the best of it but I hope you appreciate as not a professional myself I trusted a trades person who is a professional. Clearly not in this case. It's just depressing

Problem solved. I hadn't got the element in the small metal housing. I'm a Muppet!

I have just fitted the exact model and size heating element in my LG washing machine. Turned it on and a horrible metallic scraping/knocking sound coming from the back of the drum. No loose objects or anything in the machine so what on earth can it be ? This wasn't happening when it was last...

OK, but that aside the wood shouldn't be continuously expanding after he adjusted it by taking some off.

It was laid on lino, that is on concrete, with green felt underlay. I can't see what else it could have been laid on. I did question if the lino should be left and he said it was fine and would act as extra cushioning.

Well this area has got far worse these last couple of weeks after fluctuating within acceptable parameters all winter. It got this bad last year a few weeks after it was laid. Thanks, that's very helpful and incredibly cheap on Ebay. It has a missing part that my old one has (hence hole) so I just hope that isn't the part that failed, otherwise I shall use it.

Ok, I have the replacement and watched a Youtube video on how to get it out. the guy used plyers and it was as simple as pulling carrots. Not so for me. tried pulling the nut on the end of the thread for purchase. It's impossible. Help!
