    Green Star CDI pump replacement

How do I know if the pump is old enough to be used with the original PCB? On eBay they are just shown as CDI pumps. Am I just looking for one that's not labelled as ERP?

That's a good idea, forgot about fixed price repairs!

    Green Star CDI pump replacement

Thanks @gazfen so you would replace both? Do you think my estimate of £500 is about right? I'm just a bit concerned that I do this and then next month the hex goes or something like that.

    Green Star CDI pump replacement

Hi Does anyone know the FD numbers that require a PCB upgrade with a pump replacement on a 30 CDI? My plumber says the pump has a slow leak on the casing. He explained certain FD numbers needed a PCB replacement with the new pump and was supposed to get back to me with a quote but is now on...

    Cavity wall insulation requirements

Sounds like it might be easier to go for a 750 bucket rather than scraping trench walls, especially if clay and going to 2m. But any thoughts on my question?

Has anyone installed a bosch Series 4 HBS573BS0B recently?

No Square Edge Moisture Resistant Board

No my plasterers have always preferred tapered edge for skimming too. No chance of scrim showing through. No extra costs, the first coat just goes on a bit thicker at the edges.

Has anyone installed a bosch Series 4 HBS573BS0B recently?

I have a very similar Bosch Series 4 oven. It came with bare wire ends as shown. This turned out to be helpful as the electrician wanted the oven on a plug/socket in an adjacent cupboard rather than hardwired (easier for testing apparently) so I needed only to drill an 8mm hole for the flex and...

    Cavity wall insulation requirements

That's one of the things I was wondering about. Is there a rule about footing width v wall width? You can build a wall offset on a foundation so presumably there isn't a minimum spacing to footing edge? We will need clay board so potentially looking at a 700mm trench which I guess is another...

    Cavity wall insulation requirements

This stuff? https://unilininsulation.co.uk/products/cavitytherm/ Appears to be PIR like Kingspan with a textured surface to aid drainage on the external face?

Maximum thickness of mortar bed joint.

When I've needed to build up a bed I've used a sharp sand mortar for the first course - doesn't slump and stronger than a soft sand mortar.

    Cavity wall insulation requirements

Hi All What is the standard wall detail with the new part L requirements please? I have a 2021 design with 100mm cavity bats and thermalite inner skin. I understand that's no longer enough? I guess the three options are: 1. 150mm cavity with rockwool batts 2. 100mm cavity with Kingspan 3. EWI...

Peelaway 7 - turned into Smearaway

I've not used Peelaway 7 but have used Peelaway 1. It partially dried, like a cracked toothpaste. Some came with the bandages but there was still a lot to scrub off.

    Painting plywood with raw edge

Oh and I've looked at faced plywoods (phenolic or melamine) but they're cost prohibitive, around £200 to order a single board. A shame as they would be the perfect solution.

    Painting plywood with raw edge

I would like to make some furniture from plywood. I plan to leave the edge raw (clear Matt varnished) and the faces painted. Any tips on how to get a good finish? I will roller the faces using a short pile gloss roller. Would masking be sufficient to get a crisp edge? Or would you paint the...

As per one of the first comments, likely to be old storage heaters or electric radiators.
