House price gravy train may have hit the buffers

It is true, but to add some perspective Tattoos and Glastonbury are the only things I can see that were available to me in the 70's. Does 'George' count as designer clothing?

House price gravy train may have hit the buffers

First house was £15250 in 1978, two bed mid terrace in a poor part of Slough, I was in freight forwarding earning above average, wife to be was a secretary earning average. We knew 4 or 5 sets of couples buying at the same time. all as couples with joint income, none of them could have...

In fairness they didn't have anything to give us except love, or in my case, a thick ear.

House price gravy train may have hit the buffers

Our first foray into house ownership was 1978. I can honestly say I didn't know anyone who could have done it on a single income and most of us weren't 'average schmos'. Having said that, I'm refencing the Greater London area, I could probably have bought 3 houses in Cornwall or two in...

Post any old song you can think of.

Heard that album for the 1st time in 76 in Israel, an American who'd gone there to avoid being drafted to Vietnam had it on a C90 tape, I probably wore that tape out. Still got the vinyl copy I bought when I got home, along with just about everything The Doors ever did.
