What's the best way to deal with the installed flashing? Cut around base of upstand and remove, leave existing flashing piece secured on deck, install new upstand, underlay and felt over existing piece of flashing secured to deck? Does that sound ok?

Hi gents any help would be appreciated, I have a small roof light and upstand I need to replace on a felt roof, do all the felt flashings that are secured to the deck have to be removed? I will have to cut around the base of the upstand so that can be removed, I'm wondering what best practice...
