Certainly sounds like some suitable strengthening may be required, try some simple things first such as a strut brace/s.

Looks well mullered now! Usually there will be a release tab to press to enable it to be parted, a small screwdriver may be needed now to act as a lever to release it if that tab is broken. May be easier to cut it off and properly crimp some connectors on there. Id have cut it off within seconds...

I cant help much on its location if it does have one, maybe have a search on the Renault forums. Some sensors even though they are branded Bosch can be fakes, especially if purchased from amazon or ebay so i personally try to buy from reputable sources.

Difficult to guess at but probably better taken to a mercedes dealer, im assuming its a mild hybrid system on that model which can complicate matters.
