Killing off all weeds (and grass) WITH animals on a budget, for next spring to plant grass seed.. Any ideas?

Do you mean the tarp WOULD be a good idea? Once again I know nothing about gardening lol but From what i'd read you need to keep spraying the ground for 2-3 weeks every 2-3 days. Would that be the same with the tarp or would one cover of weed killer + The tarp be enough and would it be ready for...

Killing off all weeds (and grass) WITH animals on a budget, for next spring to plant grass seed.. Any ideas?

Hi. first off i know NOTHING about gardening lol so Sorry if this is a silly question. We moved purchased a house last year and are only just looking at sorting the back garden. It's mostly a clear job etc and nothing too major. However the 'lawn' is 90% weeds and i've been told NOW is the best...

    Solvent Cement.. cheaper Alternatives?

That's actually an excellent idea!!! I never thought of that thank you! I'll pop the sealant around and put in a tiny screw or two then a bit more sealant. It's literally till about march or April next year.

    Solvent Cement.. cheaper Alternatives?

I think it's PVC? It looks PVC and feels like it.. Is there any sure fire way to know?

    Solvent Cement.. cheaper Alternatives?

I'm sorry to sound tight here so please don't judge! lol We have guttering outside of the house (PVC/Plastic) and the drain coming down has come off. This part keeps the water from hitting the side of the wooden lean to and 'guides' the water away and into the drain. I've just been looking at...

Do i need a new lean to roof or can a 'patch' job work? (pics)

You're most likely right about the inside BUT as i say "try" lol . If not then i'll stick with the bucket under it for now until I can 'patch' the top of it around november-ish. I can't climb onto the roof (I don't think boards would work and i'm not sure how strong the roof actually is) SO i'll...

Do i need a new lean to roof or can a 'patch' job work? (pics)

Yeah, going by everything I think you're right. I'm going to TRY and seal it as best i can from inside for now and then in a month or two buy some proper sealant for the roof (outside) which should fix it for a year or two till I get get back to work and get some money to do it properly.

What type of insulation is this (piccys)?!?

Sorry, i should have maybe been a bit clearer. The wood was rotten due to it being next to an overflowing wateerbut for GOD knows how many years. The part where it had rotted away allowed a family of rats (and toads) to 'move in' and start living under the floor of the conservatory. This issue...

What type of insulation is this (piccys)?!?

Just removed some boards from the wooden conservatory and discovered this insulation.. I'm not an expert but i've never seen it before. To my very untrained eye it looks like roof insulation in a plastic bag lol. The bottom half has rotted away so it does need replacing. The windows on the...

Do i need a new lean to roof or can a 'patch' job work? (pics)

thank you! I just have to try and work out if I can climb on it lol A small question: Quite a few of those say "Not for long term use". Will that still be okay to use? or would I be better off with say a liquid rubber type paint?

Do i need a new lean to roof or can a 'patch' job work? (pics)

Which is another reason i really don't want to touch it lol As I say the whole this is solid and waterproof. Replacing the whole thing would be quite expensive and a big job, Spesh if it was asbestos. I'd rather just 'seal' it up, board it up and forget about it for now until things are a little...

Do i need a new lean to roof or can a 'patch' job work? (pics)

Hi. We purchased a house last year and the house has a brick lean to with a corrugated (?) roof attached. The people we bought it from took us into the lean to and said "That roof will need replacing. We've done everything we can to it and it leaks". We couldn't really see the 'leaks' as they...

How safe are electrical items off of E-bay? - Looking for an recessed Power strip for a shelf.

I'm looking for something like this - LINK to insert into a desk. It's the PERFECT thing for my needs but i can only seem to find them on E-bay, Temu, Aliexpress, Amazon (with the same photos of the ones on Temu) etc. Does anybody know how safe they are? They'll only be used for small draws...

How easy would it be to move this Boiler Isolation switch?

The two cables are running through the same conduit (should have said that sorry). The boiler is somewhat above the switch itself. I don't know why it didn't just go straight up through the ceiling tbh rather than half way to the kitchen then up.

How easy would it be to move this Boiler Isolation switch?

We moved into a house last year and are about to decorate the hallway. It's a smallish hallway and there is a switch (The boiler isolation switch) stuck right in the eyeline as you walk in. Our plan is it literally move in 3-4feet to the left and 'hide' it (not box it in) with a plant. As you...

Dewalt (DWHT77100-XJ) laser measure - WAY off?

No. Honestly they're really good. I just had a dodgy one. I managed to get them to agree to take it back. The new one is spot on again. I think if you're planning on doing a lot of 'alcove' or internal measuring they're brilliant.

Dewalt (DWHT77100-XJ) laser measure - WAY off?

Thank you. It was accurate when we first purchased it though which is odd. Literally bang on the dot. We tried it for short distances and the length of the garden 10m. Bloody thing lol. The surface was breeze block, Painted walls (matt) and one was tile. Currently in contact with toolstation...

Lol thats a hell of a discrepancy!

Dewalt (DWHT77100-XJ) laser measure - WAY off?

It says per 10m. Agreed but watching a few independent reviews on youtube say it's fine for DIY'ers. It doesn't have to be that accurate but 2-3cm's off is going a bit far.
