the gas main into the box is the sticking point, if is a mdpe main then dig down and see if theres enough movement to move it forward. if so it should be able to be done by a gas safe engineer with a meters qualification. if the main needs altering then you will need to contact your supplier really.

WB are good boilers. Most engineers on the internet who complain about them is because they can be a pain to work on due to poor position of some parts. From a customers/ home owners point of view who cares about that. There biggest plus is they have the best customer service of all...

If you do it that way you will need a sweep bend at the bottom, access above that. Support the weight of the pipe work off the floor. Is the existing not vented? Post a photo of the whole outside pipe work.

As far as I know only WB state you can get away with the rubber only and seal from inside. A 5kg bag of sand and cement is £3 a cup of water and 5mins work, whats the problem unless your a lazy bar stool.

WB may allow the rubber to be the seal but they also ask for the gap to be filled from the inside which suggest they only expect this to be done on flats above 3 story (for access reasons) imo.

Def needs a gas upgrade, boiler position needs to consider condense and boundary issues, propa flush out etc..... Get a few quotes and compare them.

Sometimes they are limited by agreed service contract but they will def have a heat only solution for houses not suitable for a combi, they just won't push it due to margins etc....

A heat only would be a cheaper install if it can go in the same place as the solo. Speak to the council.
