Latest response from Vaillant - gas112 was correct : "If the boiler or pump hasn't had to function for the past 23 hours then it will momentarily start the pump to make sure the pump doesn't seize."

I have a 12:00 on-12:00 off on my programmer but not 12:00 on-12|:01 off. In any event it lasts for only seconds not a minute. I await further comments on my 10.18 post.

Thanks for confirming that the same amount of energy (gas) is used, no matter whether your heaing and hot water "come on" together or "come on" separately. That is all I wanted to know.

Thanks for the confirmation. I will do nothing at all, other than unscrwing the sensors from the existing wooden frames and re-attaching to the new UVPC frames. Will definitely not start fiddling with any wires ! Cheers. Stuart.
