Why do firms change their laminate click flooring profiles?

Last year I did my loft boarding using the 3 pack OSB boards. Due to doing the job in stages I bought the boards in stages. Identical product and labelling from B&Q, off the same pile. Halfway through the job, I noticed the t&g profile on the boards had changed. Had to return to b&q, hunt...

    Lime repointing colour issues

Couple of reasons. Main one is lime is the right material. House is solid 9" brick wall, 1930s. Original mortar under the thin layer of cement repointing slop that has been done by others is most likely lime. Second one is colour. Every time I've used cement mortar it's come out grey. I've...

    Lime repointing colour issues

I just want a sandy brown. Perhaps could describe it as a dirty yellow. I don't want a bright white or bright yellow or creamy mortar that will really stand out against the bricks. Not grey.

    Lime repointing colour issues

Thanks for the replies but to be clear I'm not asking about types of sand, it's the colour I need to solve. I will be using some mix of both sharp and soft - all the specialist stuff ice seen includes some coarser aggregate when working with lime. I can't risk putting this mortar in the wall...

    Lime repointing colour issues

Yes one is building sand, one is sharp sand, one is plastering sand and one is kiln dried fine sand just for colour comparison. I was hoping to use a mix of sharp and building sands. However the colour issue is what I'm trying to resolve. The whole thing is a no go if I can't get a nice colour.

    Lime repointing colour issues

Hi all. Im going to be repointing my house in nhl3.5 lime. I've done some samples using different sands available locally and the colour is coming out way different than expected. I don't know how to make it better. The sands I'm using have some colour to them. See picture attached of the...

    Doors for outhouse options

I've broken down the 3 pallets and got some good pieces from it. Some snapped. Do I use 11mm or 18mm osb as the backing layer? Do I need to lip the osb edges?

    Doors for outhouse options

Just a full rectangle of osb the size of the door? What thickness? Ah ok. I was hoping to use 4" stainless butt hinges with in built dog pins. So I need to look out for longer pallets then. I've only ever seen the standard square ones. What do I need to coat the whole thing with once made? I...

    Doors for outhouse options

Thanks Tet. I could make a frame like that and clad it like a gate with T hinges, but I was hoping for something less like a gate and more door like, with standard security hinges (x4) and a keyed lock rather than padlock. @foxhole I've found a pallet source and got 3, they do fit in my car...

    Doors for outhouse options

How is it made please? I can see the front but not the frame structure. If it's only 24mm thick how are you fitting hinges to it, you screwing into the side grain of the osb? How are you avoiding screwing into the join between pallet wood and osb sheet? The stiles in the picture look to be one...

    Doors for outhouse options

Will it survive properly outdoors exposed if it's made from osb and pallets? It's an idea but getting hold of pallets is quite difficult round here. There's never any on the streets locally and I can't fit them in my car. How many pallets would I need per door?

    Doors for outhouse options

Easy to say but some of the 'second hand' examples, such as the one you gave, require fine joinery. I bet that door above has got mortice and tenon joints and tongue and groove infill. I need a real world diy budget option.

    Doors for outhouse options

What if I got some second hand solid pine 4 panel doors, painted them. Would they survive outside?

    Doors for outhouse options

Any idea on where I can get these from locally to Birmingham? Howdens sell them but I'm not trade so can't buy them or see the price. Builderdepot is London so quite far away.

    Doors for outhouse options

Thanks that looks promising. The default size is 950mm wide, can I definitely cut it down enough to be 750mm wide which is what I will need after the frame is added into the opening? And what do you mean by hardwood lipping, where do I get that from?

    Doors for outhouse options

Hi. Picture attached. I have a brick outhouse with 2 compartments which I'm refurbishing as the brickwork needs repair and the doors/frames are rotten and broken. The openings are the same at 850mm wide and 2020mm high. Initially I was thinking of making a gate style door out of 2x4 with...

    Removing an outside toilet pan

It fits. Pipe was 100mm internal, this fits snugly. Don't think I broke anything pushing it in. That's it now. Wash down with pressure washer and it's done. Outdoor storage space.

    Removing an outside toilet pan

What about the push fit one?

    Removing an outside toilet pan

Yes, but it's very stiff and if you are holding the threaded part and have your hands in the hole trying to stop it falling, and trying to tighten the wing nut at the same time - it simply doesn't work.

    Removing an outside toilet pan

Will one of these fit? Says 110mm, the internal diameter of my pipe is 100mm. https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-push-fit-drain-blanking-cap-black-110mm/4331v?ref=SFAppShare
