I'd be interested in your evidence then because I did lots of searching in advance of my repointing job, watched lots of videos on lime mortar including sone which were from the US, and even asked on here myself. There seems to be no advantage to using hydrated lime in a cement mortar mix...

But that is only true of proper hydraulic lime mortar, not cement mortar with hydrated lime added. That's my understanding from the research I did (it seems a topic with alot of uncertainty/misleading information around it).

I haven't rejected it, I just needed convincing. I'll relocate it to the left side when I eventually get under the subfloor. I still think an unused draincock sitting outside for years is very likely to just be siezed up when you actually need it though.

Do you think it really needs 3 airbricks there? Could I get away with deleting the middle one?

Render is off. Red paint underneath now also mostly removed using a 40 grit flap disc. The brickwork here is pretty poor, whoever fitted the french doors did a poor job as it should have been repaired properly when the doors/windows were out. Repointing tomorrow.
