Hi All, We've got quite a few holes in painted lining papered walls to fill, left behind from previous art / TVs, etc. Am I ok to use my Toupret filler on the holes and sand down lightly even though there's painted lining paper there? Cheers Daz

I used to be on Nextdoor but found that people responding to requests for trades people were worse than those from Checkatrade, etc. Reviews were generally terrible.

I'm not confident enough to do it myself I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply. I'm mostly leaning to a repair rather than bricking it up. Shame I bought the bricks 6 months ago!

Thanks for the reply. But repair is the only way. I don't want this turning into a huge job. I've put a couple of feelers out to see if a brick layer wants to earn £250 for the job.

Hi All, I'm going to be repainting all our walls in the house. The majority of them are plaster on brick if that makes any difference. Currently painted with vinyl matt, going to be re-painted with Leyland acrylic undercoat and Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt. The wall surface feels a little rough...

Our stair case is wooden too. It has a bull nose. How difficult would it be to laminate that too?

Hi All, We want to replace the laminate flooring upstairs in our hallway and 3 bedrooms. Currently, the laminate is laid on top of fibre underlay which in turn is laid directly on top of floorboards. Can we lay click type LVT on top of the existing underlay or does it need to be laminate...

Thanks people for all the replies. I'm going to try and repair the frame by chopping out the rotten wood, putting new timber in and then use epoxy as £400 - £500 is not in our budget at the moment.

Wow...more than I thought. Probably best I consider a repair of the rotten timber then?

That doesn't really bother me as it's around the side of the house.
