GAS ENGINEER REFUSES TO REMOVE old BOILER

He should have known that when he quoted, I wouldn't be impressed.

    What is this pipe?

Looks from the pic to be the cold feed which fills the CH system, unusual to see that type of tap on it though, have a look in your loft, you'll see where it goes.

Is it normal for combi boiler to vent air for 30sec every few minutes?

Sounds like hot water pre heat function may have been left on, check instructions for how to turn off.

    Part 1/2 float valve

Probably not, they are often different sizes. They're not difficult to replace with the right tools.

    Bend copper pipe in-situ?

Assuming they're hot/cold pipes, as opposed to heating pipes, I suggest you call an intelligent plumber (yes, we exist), explain the situation, and tell him you will have water off, and pipes bone dry for him to solder, it will take him 5 mins max, and charge you according to where you live...

    Bend copper pipe in-situ?

Please don't put connections where they can't be seen, Speedfit or anything. Soldered joints only for me in that situ, and please protect the copper from the screed, it will kill the copper quickly

    Toilet siphon leaking

It sounds like you have some type of cable/bellows type flush valve that IS NOT a siphon. The easiest remedy is to try to find a replacement flush valve of the same make, you can then replace it in situ by unscrewing it from its bayonet fitting in the bottom of the cistern. Failing that, it's...

    Slight leak from boiler pipework

There's a rubber washer that fits in there to seal the filling loop, that pipe should only be under pressure whilst filling/topping up pressure, It won't (shouldn't) leak at all if both filling valves are shut. Pull that awful silicone off, and have a look to see if rubber washer has been fitted.

Pan connector - is this normal?

Difficult to tell from the pic, but I can't see why he wouldn't have used a standard 90 degree pan conn rather than an offset and short straight. However, as long as the bottom of the pan conn is sealed in the pipe below, it shouldn't smell/leak.

Boiler cuts out when running DHW.

Without being in front of it, we don't know, but it's quite likely your plate hex is clogged and unable to dissipate heat to the HW side, Clean or replace plate hex.

Dry Testing - Worth It Or Not?

Don't worry about air, if you have a leak, the air will rush out, closely followed by water. So a friend told me :giggle:

How do I replace my bottom entry flush fill valve when i cannot access the bottom

Look forward to a world of pain as you disturb things. Manufacturers should be banned from producing these things, invariably, you will end up having to pull the pan forward to allow you access to the cistern. You could get lucky, and be able to swap the flush valve from above, assuming that's...

Open vented system - overspill and new ceiling leak

I always suggest to customers that they leave their TRVs fully open all summer, this helps to prevent them from sticking in the closed position, a problem for which I get amillion calls every October. Your vent pipe needs to be unobstructed, and pointing inside the f&e tank, next time you put...

    Isolating Ideal Logic+ 30 Combi

Those 2 valves on flow & return appear to be closed, assuming (as DP says) they're working properly. The blue valve is mains cold inlet, which is also in the closed position, if it is closed, no water will come out of hot taps.
