Yes, I checked the remote's flashing light with my mobile's camera and it lighting up when buttons are pressed.. I've tried again today, powering down the TV and batteries (new) out of the remote but still no go on power up. Also give the TV's sensor a wipe. I've been through the onscreen menu...
