Would you accept this timber for large garage roof

Tried to add a laughing face (but won't let me!).

    New build - no aerial?

We still have TV aerials, two in fact, and they are connected to outlets near the TV. However, we never use them. All online now, which I believe is becoming the norm, and I suspect that the ancient(?) problem of interference is now far less frequent.

    Google Chrome

Thanks. This seems to have worked. Sorry, I have just seen your reply. Thanks again.

    Google Chrome

Thanks. I've been busy today but have just done that. Sadly, the problem continues. I shall probably have to live with it, but at least I have Edge in case Chrome goes tits-up permanently!

    Google Chrome

    Thanks. I'll try that.

    Google Chrome

I don't know if anyone here is interested in the problem, but the disappearance of my tabs continues. I can sometimes restore them - seven tabs actually - by pressing Control + Caps + T, though I don't know how long this will work. Consequently, I have set all the same tabs on Edge now and...

    Google Chrome

NEW PROBLEM WITH CHROME I have been using Chrome for many years, and have updated whenever updates have become available. However, a couple of days ago my 8 tabs completely disappeared. Fortunately, I could restore them, one by one, as I had taken the precaution of keeping a record of each or...

    Reform Policies

Naming no names here, I assure you. Just thinking about the British public in general. It appears to me that we are, and probably always have been, a disunited country. That can be both good and bad. The good thing is that it ensures different opinions which I think must be a good thing in...

    Drawing plan app FREE

I, like Mr Windybottom, also use LibreOffice Draw. It was free, and it does all I want very accurately. I also use TurboCAD for Windows which can be even more accurate.

Merge In Turn, why does no one do it properly!

It occurs to me to suggest that where the merge takes place, there could be traffic lights going to green for each lane in turn, staggered for a couple of minutes per lane perhaps. Preferably with cameras to pick out the BMWs who don't worry about traffic lights! I'm not joking; I think such...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I have said before that I should consider leaving this forum. Surely I don't need to explain further. I shall continue to read the sensible posts in the sections relating to DIY and such matters.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

It seems that there are more British citizens who welcome illegal entry to the country than I thought. C-est la vie. You younger ones will have to live with it!

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I certainly did vote for Brexit, and would do so again should our inept government succeed in dragging us back under their contorl.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I cannot say with complete certainty, but what a coincidence that after we chose to leave the EU, the Frogs began to turn blind eyes when rubber boats began leaving their shore. Were they angry because we had left their control? Rather than threaten us (the Frogs are not the most brave people)...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

Ah, my apologies. I didn't see the specification 'legal immigration'. That makes far more sense. So legal immigration has now dropped to low levels. What is far more serious, as far as I am concerned, is not only ILLEGAL immigration (which I would call ILLEGAL ENTRY), but the rapid and...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

Do you write speeches for TwoTier? I'm not going to waste my time trying to argue with you. I assume that this wonderful graph you have produced has been created by Labour, and what a coincidence that mass illegal immigration began the moment we left the EU! Let's just wait and see what...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

It is the land in which I lived from 1952 to 1990 and, though initially rather poor, has been improving itself since the end of the second world war. Sadly, following the advances made over that period, it then began to deteriorate, though still with hope over many years. Latterly, it has...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

Well, when this country becomes the land that you and others like you really want, I think eventually you'll begin to think again. I'm not suggesting, of course, that you are slow to acquire common sense.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

True. Wait until they take over! Fortunately I shall not be here, or if I am I'll be in my wooden box.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

She could become an atheist (like what I am!). Yes, she'd be kicked out of her community, but she could then join a more civilised community, dress like an English woman, eat what she wants, make some civilised friends, even think what she wants. Atheism is the future!
