Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I agree. We are not importing unskilled labour as such, because they have no need to work. The country (we) are supporting them for absolutely no return, presumably to make the government look nice and helpful. I'm sure that they cannot foresee the future.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

Good point. Can we do anything about it? Those invaders who are here illegally could be removed (it doesn't really matter to where), but there are still millions here legally and they tend to breed rapidly. Today, of course, we are not short of labour. In fact, we seem to have many - perhaps...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I agree with you. Multiculturism isn't working today. When there were fewer it was acceptable, but now that some places: Birmingham, Bradford, London, etc, are becoming majority muslim it is becoming conceivable that the country as a whole could become the same. They do, after all, breed like...

Sounds like fun, but they don't deserve my valuable time!

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

Thank you. You are quite correct. I'm not afraid of upsetting the poor little things; I'd just rather not waste my time.

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I shall say goodbye. I'm sure that some people here will applaud that, and I hope that you are happy with it. I made a mistake earlier, on a different thread, of going against the proscribed opinions. I know now to post (and view) only threads specifically regarding DIY and related topics. My...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

So you don't feel at all strongly about such things, then? I didn't think you would, somehow!

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

I bang on about illegal immigration. At the same time, I have many friends and acquaintances who are not white but are of racial origins other than white British. The difference is that they are working people, some professional (eg, doctors, optometrists, etc). None of them regard me as a...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

You didn't ask me, but I agree with both questions. (I think I know the answer to no. 1!) What is happening right now is an ongoing invasion (supported by both our so-called government and the Frogs). I can't imagine any other country in the world encouraging such a thing by handing the...

Our political system, what 'is' the answer?

In rejoining this debate, I want to say that if nothing else, opinions on here may reflect how the whole country feels: many different opinions of which way to go. I suspect, though, that the general agreement is that Labour is not the way to go! Having seen many news reports, I would have...

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

We've had the shed for 23 years, though apart from the roof the rest of it doesn't see much sun. No signs of any deterioration.

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Perhaps you should have gone for a plastic one, like wot I have got! Well, it will never rot.

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

I'm afraid that I don't remember your help regarding equipment issues, though to be honest my memory is pretty bad these days and, sadly, getting worse. I would certainly thank you for such help anyway. I'd like to apologise for being insulting and rude to you. Perhaps I have over-reacted...

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

In other words, you are too pig-headed to admit that you were wrong, despite that being pointed out by other members as well. I shall have to remember to avoid Lucid in future. It would only result in cheap and unfounded arguments on his part.

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

As far as I am aware, there is no necessity to pay the TV licence in order to view internet programmes, though if they can be proved as being transmitted (over the internet) 'live', the naughty BBC might still object. I'm not sure how true this is, though. In addition, I should state that...

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

What you said was: "If you don't want to pay for a TV licence, then you must abandon any way of watching live TV. This means no TV aerial, no satellite dish+receiver, no cable TV box etc. "NO TV AERIAL". To me, that means that you suggest such people have NO TV AERIAL. To explain even more...

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

That is exactly what many people do. Before the oncoming BBC criticisms, Marge actually does pay the BBC licence.

Set TV to watch Freeview (& Other Free Channels) Only

Nonsense. You may not legally watch any live TV, but you are not obliged to remove your TV aerial or, for that matter, dishes, etc. You simply have to promise that you do not watch any live TV. Do try to get your fact right.

    Speed detection displays

I think that perhaps, just to be on the safe side, I'd drive at a notch or two below the stated speed limit. I suppose that you might arrive a minute or less behind your expected time.
