    Drill a small pilot hole and countersink floorboard for screw head.. Just nip screws up so they don't crush in... Will be a tidy job

    Identify where the pipes are before you screw.. I done that once and still hit a pipe!. There were 3 radiators pipes when I thought there should only be 2 and stopped looking when I found the 2.

    I thought the idea is as the air that sucked in is cooled air ( some of it) then it continues to lower the temperature. You will be sucking in hot air from outside your way. It's that a good thing? Our air conditioning unit in bedroom works fine and blows hot air out through a 110mm soil pipe

Sometimes you can get a fiber or some cotton thread or just a bit dirt inside joint and it was never very good but over time corrosion gets in and it leaks but no amount if heating and solder will fix.     For push fit or compression you need the pipe clean. That would require replacing that's section. Better off heating up and pulling off the joint. Clean off ( sand) Re soldier. It's not difficult.

    My first thoughts is condensation. Cold bridging. You could put plastic on wall. If it's wet under the plastic is water ingress. If water is on the top it's condensation. You will need to do this in winter really. Also a camera in the cavity would help

    Sand over it it's a rough surface. Apply one coat of gardz. 2 coats of valspar premium matt. Will be smooth and hard wearing
