    Rust barrier paint ... epoxy-based ?

Hi. Painting the exterior wood on the gable the first thing to go is the the bleed through of rust stains which forces me to repaint sooner than I would like so I am looking at solutions. Taking the rust out is not so easy as it sounds as screw heads often sheer off or cannot be turned with...

    "Removeable" Adhesive for Cement Board

Thanks, it's a 125 yr old victorian house, not sure it's solid or cavity. On the inside is plasterboards and lining paper. It's a cold wall wind facing. occassionally slight damp marks presumably at the dot/dab points. The dampness might be caused by damp wind getting into the sash window...

    "Removeable" Adhesive for Cement Board

Yeah that's correct and the product is quite inexpensive. I need to put a little thermal insulation on. That wall is wind facing and is occasionally a touch damp - I've been told it is cold bridging. But if it is not then adding boards may cause some kind of mould growth behind. Perhaps I...

    "Removeable" Adhesive for Cement Board

Hi, I am looking to stick some insulated cement board (2 cement faces with polystyrene inside) onto a plaster wall. But it's possible that it won't work out and will need to be stripped off and the underlying plaster wall reinstated. So I am wondering what is the best kind of adhesive /...

Wiring Lampholder - no terminal blocks ?

Using very small screwdriver you can release the "spring" and get the cable out. Rather idiotic not to have proper terminals if you ask me like most modern things it's "easier" i.e they save 0.25 pence per item, and if anyone dies nobody knows anything.

Wiring Lampholder - no terminal blocks ?

Can someone help with this, it's a new e14 lampholder apparently but no terminal blocks so how is it wired? It is marked N and L but haven't got the foggiest what to do. Been jamming the cables into all the orifices ... is this some newly invented c*** I don't know about ? Anyone know ? Thanks

Plain Tiles with No Battens, Repair - is it possible ?

I was up on a similar roof last week it appears there are some good options. This roof is double lapped which means about 1.5 " overlap of the 2nd tile, so you can no doubt get a self tapping screw through the gap with a strip of lead on it and use it to hang the tile. Another option is to hang...

Plain Tiles with No Battens, Repair - is it possible ?

Hi. Have the beginning of some dampness under this roof. House is 120 years old, this roof has no felt or battens, the slope is wooden boards and the tiles nailed straight on. Looks like the last 5 rows of tiles are losing nails and shifting, I'd like to replace just them (rather than redoing...

Rishi did a runner from Normandy

Sunak is a dunce, he has Zero connection to this country. But ... does anyone know that 70 million white Christians died in WW2, and they did that to put Christ back into Jerusalem. I mean ... not Christ but .... er .... Why did Christianity destroy itself again ... it was to .... to ...

New Lamp Posts Everwhere since Covid ???

Is it just my imagination or have roads and pavements in the last few years become pegged with millions of new lampposts ... there is for instance a stretch near rottingdean where you could drive with a sea view now grey pegs along the length, same in many other roads of all sorts. Arrived when...

    Defense Minister talks about Conscription

What's the point of defending the country when the fanatical goal is to erase the native population? Perhaps it's to replace the remaining British men so that the coffin is irrevocable? Russia ! Ever heard of hypersonic missiles? Start with something manageable like the bread maker on that...
