    Is it normal for a velux window to leak when open?

    I hardly ever open it but water was pouring in from the top when it was open and it was raining. I guess because it pivots back there is nowhere else for the water to go, so maybe they just can't be left open when it's raining? Thanks

    Would a stainless steel strip at the back of the worktop help it seal better?

    Thanks for your help, it's a rental property and silicone only lasts so long, they don't tell me it's leaking and then it's new worktop time. I was thinking this may be belt and braces, which is what I try to go for.

    Hi, I have had my back boiler disconnected and replaced with a combi which has a flue going through the wall. I have a bit of damp at the top of the chimney in the loft, I'm wondering if the chimney should be capped now? If so it it something I can do myself? Thanks

    I don't know that there's plasterboard above, if there is there are gaps in it where the cables for the downlighters are.
