    Mains Isolation

Just to update and close, DNO Subbie came out, and decided it would be in his interest to install the isolator at the same time. Called his office, confirmed that they could pull the job from 30th (the second app) forward to when he was visiting, and installed the isolator and meter at the same...

    Mains Isolation

Dno subcontractor call to adjust time and I asked at the time if they could fit, the guy on the phone said he could only do the works they were told. So called npower and they said they would instruct the dno to fit if they have time, else have made a second appointment to fit at the end of the...

condenstaion in loft post celotex insulation

Thanks for the response Johns, I guess I had lots of condensation when the insulation wasn't sealed, as it was over bathroom area. At the moment the loft is cold, with a light draft (though that's is with the hatch open so need to see when it's closed) fan was more as a just in case, the joists...

    Mains Isolation

I do, but I can't afford to rip apart the first floor and stick a loft conversion on now, and the electrician (rightly) wouldn't put my old wiring in the new box as it's bodges beyond belief including my dimming first floor lights which I have found to have a break in all three conductors in the...

I'll give them a call and see if the installer can do the same while he/she is attending for the meter.

    Mains Isolation

I've had some works done, where the electrician pulled the main fuse, and connected in a new fuse box off an existing Henley block. There will be further works to remove the old fuse box once the first floor of the house has been refurbished, so will need to be able to isolate the henley block...

condenstaion in loft post celotex insulation

With the celotex sealed around the edges, the amount of condensation seen has reduced a lot (as it its almost not visible) however joist are still wet at the top edge. Fan has been fixed on Sunday, so will see what happens over this week. However weather is warmer now so not as much...

condenstaion in loft post celotex insulation

Sorry it was a breather membrane, and vented ridge (i assume that using clips to hold ridge tiles down rather then mortar are vented?) previously was bedded on mortar. Soffit was wood, and is now covered in plastic, there were no vents prior, and still are none.

Intergas - flow and return temps?

Good Afternoon, Is there anywhere that a user (ie me!) can view the flow and return temps on an intergas HRE SB? Also although not shown on the installation manual, is there a way to get hot water priority on this model? ( i found a page that details what needs to be done on a similar model...

condenstaion in loft post celotex insulation

Thanks John, I'd seen that link already, and loosely following it, just wanted to see if anything i did with the insulation was done incorrectly or not complete. It didnt apear to be a problem last dec/jan, so could it be as a result of the plaster drying, heating not being on and insulation...

    wires through celotex - lighting

The Celotex is already down, and most likely the wire will need to pass through. Light fittings and the MCB its on, will remain as they are, just tidying up the wiring at this stage!

Good Morning, I am covering the floor in my loft with 100mm of celotex. Upstairs wiring needs tidying up (there are a couple of twisted connections, a few choc blocs etc... plus i've been having issues with dimming lights. So i will be looking to re-run all the wiring between the two ends...
