    The last picture shows a zone valve, with the boiler off manually open the valve, it is a small lever that you move across and catch hold in a recess. The pipes either side of the valve have bleed points, undo these but don't take them completely off

    Google heating zone valves. Often these will be found near the pump . Don't think it's necessary to drain down you just need to bleed the circuits, photos of around the boiler, cylinder and pump would help

    Do you have a hot water cylinder? If you do have you tried bleeding this circuit, zone valves should be manually opened

    If you are going to extend the stack use 2 x 45 degree bends to the right then go straight up and use 2 more bends around the soffit. The pipe should extend 900mm above the window

    No problems with respect to building regs , just the normal approval for removing load bearing walls and staircase headroom

    We done the same approx 5 yrs ago, Paid stamp duty at normal rate on the total purchase price. We then paid around £500 for planning permission to convert back to one house. Be aware some council's will not grant permission so I would advise you to ask the local authorities on their policies
