    Monoblock kitchen tap problem

No, but silicone can go funny. Might be better with plumbers mait and monobloc tap spanner set: https://www.plumbase.co.uk/rothenberger-monoblock-tap-100010961-2215372...

Can't undo bath tap compression nut

Bath taps can be awkward bar stewards which is why tools such as Rothenberger Telescopic Basin Wrench 32mm (71701) are made. The Armeg Jaw-Dropper is excellent, but a bit expensive for one-off use.

Can't undo bath tap compression nut

What about using one of these? https://www.diy.com/departments/rothenberger-basin-wrench/139416_BQ.prd FWIW, I used one recently to fit new taps to my bath, bought it from B&Q, didn't remove the label and took it back for a refund. Cheeky, I know but I bought enough other stuff off of them. If...

    Rothenberger tips?

I have a rothenberger superfire 2 torch, I was wondering what size tip you pros would recommend for 15mm pipework? The one that came on it seems a bit light an f18 afterburner!

    Bath tap spanner tool

Ah ,ok. Get a double ended one 3/4 one end 1/2 inch the other. Mines a rothenberg ,seven quid at screwfix. But be aware the nut sizes vary ,and may not fit yours . When i encounter that problem i use a flat piece of copper as a shim bent over the spanner ,on one flat of the hexagonal shape.

...you use. Mine are as follows: Pliers: knipex water pump pliers. They always do the trick even in tight to reach places Pipe slice: Rothenberger, they've never let me down. Corded drill: Makita rotary hammer drill SDS+. I have to say this is the best drill I ever owned. Like knife through...

My tool storage solution - slat board wall *VOTE*

Yes. Hell yes. Utter crap as are most Rothenberger (FFS you can't even spell it) tools. The only exception being the torch heads as I said in the other thread. I have a grands worth of their pipe bending kit in my workshop and it is utter shyte. As are their pliers, pipe cutters and...

Stopping pesky leaks on new compression fittings?

I did a load of compression fittings 10 years ago with no issues, did some las year and it was a nightmare!. I had some old 15mm pipe offcuts and the pipe was notably thicker (wall thicness) than the new pipe. I also think copper olives are better but not readily available bundled with the...

Best way to remove this tap?

I would think it's a male thread on the elbow, so you would need to turn it clockwise as we look at it on the pic. Don't know how you did it, but what I meant about the open-end spanner is put it on the elbow so it hangs nearly straight down, parallel to the other spanner (can't think of a...

Best way to remove this tap?

If you remove the other union nut (the one painted white) you can take the elbow right out, which will give access. If it's tight put an open-end spanner on the elbow to hold against yourself, otherwise you risk bending the short length of pipe between the elbow and the tap.

Best way to remove this tap?

Thank you. So it's this one: https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-tap-backnut-spanner/27337 If I understand correctly, that slips over the thread and then up to the back nut. I don't think I'll be able to use that, because I can't move the incoming pipe out of the way to get the spanner...

Best way to remove this tap?

...replace it, but just wanted to get the new taps on as a medium term solution. Is this the kind of thing? https://www.screwfix.com/p/rothenberger-monoblock-tap-spanner-set/40102 If so, the problem is that I can't move/rotate the incoming pipe, as it is just a fixed copper pipe, and so...

    Soldering Yorkshire fittings

Rothenberg do a gel in a spray bottle that stops heat traveling up the pipe. I guess it absorbs the heat. Comes in handy sometimes too.
