Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

Here are the pics. Might be a way to pull the cable (on left and right - see last pic) through and crimp something further up the wire. What should I do?

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

I have now fitted around 130mm thick kingspan insulation to the garage door and stuck roofing membrane on the inside to cover the insulation. Whilst the door still opens/closes and can be locked closed the door itself, due to the added weight, will not stay 'swung open' (swung up) and closes...

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

Would grab adhesive (like Soudal Easy grab) work as well to stick the membrane to itself and the membrane to the metal door frame?

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

The insulation is st I have just stuck on the breathable roofing membrane to the garage door using the carpet glue. I now need super strong tape to go over all edges and all roofing membrane overlaps. What sort of tape should I get? Something like 3M, Gorilla Tape, etc

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

I have a metal application gun (TS item 28840). I can leave the Soudal gun grade adhesive opened and on the gun after gluing on a test piece of block insulation (to make sure the block insulation sticks 1st). I would use the cheaper expanding foam but I need a low application temperature of...

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

By 'expanding foam' do you mean adhesive glue like this Soudal adhesive: https://www.toolstation.com/soudal-soudabond-easy-adhesive-foam-gun-grade/p37023? This Soudal adhesive can set at temperatures of up to -5oC which is needed this Winter as it's less than 5oC outside. Would this work as...

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

The gun grade Soudabond does not have its own stopper (this one: https://www.toolstation.com/soudal-soudabond-easy-adhesive-foam-gun-grade/p37023) can I stick gaffa tape on the end after gluing a test 1m2 test piece of kingspan to the garage door? This saves me having to buy two lots as it will...

Is the soudal adhesive foam reusable if I put some gaffa tape over the end after gluing a test piece of insulation to the garage wall interior?

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

Would this Screwfix 'Soudal Adhesive Foam Hand-Held 750ml' work? It says it can be used externally. The glue/adhesive needs to be able to withstand condensation (that may form on the inside of the door) I have 3/4 of a can of 'EVO-STIK Sticks Like Sh*t Adhesive, All Weather adhesive' (says it...

Insulate garage door and fill gaps at side

I would like to insulate a bifurcated garage swing up (up and over) door. I have breathable roofing membrane, mineral wool, bits of 150mm kingspan block insulation and various glues. Could I use very small screws to attach the breathable roofing membrane to the inside of the garage door, pin...

interior shed paint in cold weather

I have just finished insulating the inside of a standard wooden shed and although the temperature does not get that cold I really need to paint the inside of the shed. The temperature inside the shed still varies too much from 1 degrees C to about 14 degrees C in Winter The paint needs to be...

    Drain down hot water pipe

Nope. The boiler manual backs what I have said. Here is a list of the two components I need to make a 22mm x 22mm x 15mm drain valve on the hot water outlet about 0.5m from the boiler. I would put 22mm pipe clips either side of this valve 1. 22mm x 22mm x 15mm tee...

    Drain down hot water pipe

The same display is used for bot hot water and for radiator temperature, the readings switch between both. So if you turn up the radiator temp by 1 setting the display will show rad temp then if you immediately change the hot water temp the display will show hot water temp.

    Drain down hot water pipe

The boiler has 2 separate controls for heating radiator and heating hot water. Not confusing anything.

    Drain down hot water pipe

The boiler has 2 displays one for hot water (tap) temperature the other for radiator temperature. The outlet temperature on both can be adjusted separately. The insulation under the bathtub has no effect on the bath tap exit temperature however more insulation under the bathtub will retain...

    Drain down hot water pipe

Said bathroom has no underfloor insulation and has a cold floor. Whilst I agree the exit hot water tap temperature won't change from insulating under the floor, the bathtub's heat will last longer with more insulation
