Warm it up measure resistance. Let it cool then measure again, resistance should go up. At 25°c see if it measures 10kΩ

Strom engineer? Either way he should be able to test that as it'll most likely be an NTC with resistance table to look up.

Mcalpine flexis are not ribbed inside and one end is compression so you could use that as your access point.

FFS! My post above should have shown corner vs angled but something went tits up! Personally I'd go for angled with stubs out the wall and then a long street-elbow up into the bottom of angled valves.

Is the airing cupboard behind the shower? Can you trace pipes from back of it?

Either way, when pipes come out of the walls, unless you use union connections to the rad tails, just be aware you'll need to drain system if you ever need to remove a rad.
