Without being in the shower... Turn the thermostat to fully hot and fully cold a few times, if you haven't already. Isolate using the Ballofix valves behind. Undo the nuts holding valve onto the pipes, remove the shower valve and check the gauze filters. Reassemble.

I was thinking you removing the trap was releasing a vacuum. If the wastes run freely then something is causing that air lock :unsure:

My original advice was "check out" not "look at" but if you don't want to acknowledge my goodwill effort then no problem. You might also want to "check out" Heat Geek on YouTube, if you haven't already. And also Urban Plumber - and for a really good informative study... Search for Heat Geek...

If you reused the existing pan con, renew it.
