Yes, I'm thinking that’s the best solution. Even if a repair sorts it out now, any future issues would be the same problem. With costs rising, an installation would be cheaper sooner than later. Will have to be a scrooge Christmas, but warm and boiler trouble free.

The rainwater downpipes, are at the corner of the house. So once again, the backdoor is unfortunately between boiler and pipes. The pipe could indeed go below the sill, but I don't think gravity alone wouldn't be enough to get it around the corner to the gully.
