    So what u are saying if the 2 out of use cables were in the switch that would be a total of 5 wires but only 3 downstairs

    The blue and black were wrapped in electrical tape and were never connected to the switch, there are still 3 wires in the switch and there 3 wires in the downstairs switch

    Those wires that are wrapped with electrical tape were not connected to the switch ,still 3 wires in the switch do the others were obviously not required

    Those other wires are not in use they were already taped up ,the pics I posted are how it was wired and working fine

    I've used joiners they seem connected OK but nothing works

    They are the originals before I changed anything to new switches

    The pics of the wiring on the original switches, i had no issues all working fine could turn lights on and off from either switch ,i post the new switches,i had to extend the wiring as I moved the switches over,maybe the connectors are not 100 %,I will buy a tester i guess and check gor power...

    Hi guys I have changed my two way light switches for new ones and wired the same way, had to extend the wiring as to short as had to move the switches abit to put new box in the walls,have connected up as before but neither are working, I fint have a electrical tester either ,swapped wires...
