Hi, There isn’t enough overhang on the cupboard on my rental property. I’m wondering whether it’s best to glue a strip of plastic angle to the cupboard door so that it protrudes slightly and the water goes somewhere else. Any ideas please?

a piece of molding fell off one side , it was slightly rotten where CV it had been nailed, The paint has flaked off some other bits. I’m not very good with heights, I prodded it with a stick and it didn’t feel rotten yet, but I couldn’t get to the top piece .

I don’t want it to rust or get worse. I don’t have a picture but it’s a hairline crack around 2 inches long.
