Anyone know about the new road tax prices?

I've been trying to find out of what my car tax will be in the spring. I've found web pages saying it's only for new cars and others contradicting that?

    Anyone used prop pals?

Any idea how much someone might charge for putting in a steel? I'm not sure my insurance company is happy with the customer working on their own house. A very rough guess will do?

    Anyone used prop pals?

    I think they're about £300. I don't use them enough for that. £15 to hire. I need 4 though.

I imagine the XL strong boys would be perfect to reach the far side. I'd have to do that from the inside and have the steel outside. Cheers

That would be my choice. But I've heard and read that's only really safe on a bungalow.??

    Anyone used prop pals?

For me they could be worth it. Instead of a piece of 4x4 timber these are about 60mm high apparently. Which would mean I can possibly get them above the steel and under the floorboards of the bedroom above. Otherwise it would have to go higher up and sit on top of the bedroom floor.

    Anyone used prop pals?

As it happens I've got that problem with the inner hollow blocks being no where near level with the outer brick wall. Was thinking I might have to find a tool that can cut the block neatly all the way through to match the arris of the brickwork. I am tempted by using strong boys on both walls...

    Anyone used prop pals?

I'm thinking about giving these a try. I think they only came out a couple of years ago. They can slip through a gap the size is a brick and have a handle on them at one end to wind it up the last bit rather than fight with the acrow handle. Just wondered if anything has any thoughts on them...

Hello, just wondered if anyone's got a recommendation for these. Not sure if one company is better than others or maybe there are Chinese ones on Amazon that can do a job?

Whose job is it to do dry valley on the lay boards.

Oh thanks. A bit confusing though as I've had a quote for a job with these valleys obviously necessary. The price is massively over what I was expecting and there's no mention of the valley or materials needed included.

Whose job is it to do dry valley on the lay boards.

Not sure if it's the carpenter or tiler that does this. Or a bit of both?
