    Strange Socket In Hospital

Could one side be a 'clean' earth? I don't know if portable x-ray machines would require one though

    Earth/moon.

We'd probably need some sort of tether system attached to a few space elevators? https://www.isec.org/ ...although perhaps, this may be simpler?

    Earth/moon.

Despite the Moon having a low conductivity surface anyway - the question for me would be, is there any point in Luning what will (at least in the short term) be a DC power bus system? With the power supply derived from solar and/or Radio isotope Thermoelectric Generators, coupled with battery...

    Earth/moon.

I'm afraid most of the currently available papers suggest that the moons surface is composed mostly of silicates and has a very low conductivity. I suspect, as with the ISS, the power buses would be DC, with inverters only used where necessary.

    Induction hob

It seems to limit power on back and front heating zones - is it similar when you try side by side?

Making a box for storing stuff in communal cupboard

IMHO, just no. It's a service space - it should be kept clear of anything. Placing anything in there, may get in the way of safely isolating services, in an emergency. Even if what you store isn't cumbersome, or flammable etc., you may start a precedent to others. On top of that, the incoming...

Gloves for handling freshly cut mdf

Is it just the breathability, or the feeling of rubber you don't like? Most cut-resistant gloves have a rubbery texture on the working side, for grip and protection... https://www.screwfix.com/search?search=Cut+resistant+gloves I use the Site gloves and don't have any problems with them, even...

Does it fizz, if a small chunk is dropped in vinegar?

Cough cough - SCRIBD. it's a 176MB scan, so not the best quality...

Do I need to worry about my chimney stacks?

The brick dust is from spalling. It is common on old Victorian chimneys, where past conditions of dampness, a leaking roof and decades of continuous chimney use degrade the bricks. Whether it is a problem depends on how bad the bricks are and how many are affected. If there are only a few...

Series or Parallel for LED strips

Thanks, the link has a good explanation; but I'd still disagree with this... With... four shelves and some strips behind the TV, any number of branch arrangements could be far better suited than connecting all the strips in 'series'. Without knowing the layout, we can't say which way is better.

Series or Parallel for LED strips

I'm with frodo on this one. The OP is confusing the concept (series and parallel) at a component level, hence the reference to needing a more powerful supply. The LED strios can be connected in any form of branching network, just as long as the RGBW and Com channels are connected together...

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

I've found with tiles like the OPs, a tight spacer is needed to get the pattern to match effectively. Personally, I think I would centralise it to the doorway.

Oh no, let me put a Band-Aid on that for you! :)

    Boiler fault codes

Because they don't want to get sued for giving out advice that can only 'legally' be performed by an RGI? But I do get your point. The sites definition of DIY gas work, is pretty extensive.. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/diy-gas.8090/ Rules is rules?

Nest thermostat 3rd gen wiring question

As @Stuckinarut says, it's unusual for all the terminals to be occupied, but the Nest can replicate the Grasslin nonetheless. If all those wires are used, is another question! (I think it may just have been a place to park the spare wires from the triple and earth cables) The wiring terminals...

Adding a humidistat to fan and lighting circuit

Use a humidistat with a built in timer? Something like... https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MR1361.html And convert your fan to non-timed operation, by linking both the L and T terminals at the fan, to the 'fan live' output of the humidistat. Alternatively, if your humidistat has a SPDT...

    Netatmo thermostat to Potterton boiler

Well done, that's a good job :) Yes, that's perfect. These wires shouldn't be carrying any voltage; we just want to ensure they are left in a way that it's improbable for them to touch any other wires, or components.
