    New slate choice for old slate roof

    The best choice would be a natural slate out of the ground. Delabole slate is the best but its expensive. Welsh slate is slightly more cost effective but not as good. I think the best man made slate is Brazillian.

    I would look at redoing the soakers correctly.

    Is this flashing wrong ( roof related !!)

    It doesn't look great. If you've got one very long soaker under all of the tiles, water could track sideways off the lead and into the roof. I would look at redoing the soakers correctly.
