    PIR Question please

    100 between + 25 under will be better, using 2 x 50's is identical to 1 x 100, more cutting/labour though. Don't understand the wall question.

Workmen removed holding cement for swing?

Something like this https://www.grasswarehouse.co.uk/collections/accessories/products/artificial-grass-joining-tape and this https://www.grasswarehouse.co.uk/collections/accessories/products/artificial-grass-glue-cartridge But you might have to check with the actual grass manufacturer (if you...

Workmen removed holding cement for swing?

Agreed, the 'handyman' has made things worse, now the patch has to be joined to the existing bit and that should be a strip of special joining fabric underneath both bits and a special adhesive used to join both bits to the fabric strip.

Workmen removed holding cement for swing?

Surely the concrete for the swing legs should have been set a 6 inches or so beneath the surface of the fake grass? Then whatever the base is for the grass could have just continued over concrete swing bases, sounds like the bases were installed too high initially. Fixings like these are used at...

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

BCO's are not there to advise you, it's up to you to satisfy the regs. Sounds like you're doing it on a Notice and just making it up as you go along. BCO's love that approach. Someone is lacking common sense in this thread, I don't think it's the BCO.

    Nice one Asda....

Asda, like the rest, never give up an opportunity for some good publicity. They're such a caring employer https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/feb/03/thousands-asda-workers-win-latest-stage-equal-pay-case#:~:text=Thousands%20of%20Asda%20workers%20have,payout%20worth%20%C2%A31.2bn.

    Cycling.

Won't it fit in the Jazz with the rear seats down, front wheel off obviously? I went through the mill looking at a long term bike carrier solution for the Golf, settled on a roof rack + bike carriers but I guess that's not ideal if it's difficult for you to lift a heavy bike up there.

It's not a BCO's job to get their hands dirty.

    Gate lock

How old is it? I doubt any alternatives will have anything replaceable either, they'll be cheaper imitations. You could reach out to the manufacturer and see if they're sympathetic!

    Loft joists (in-situ concrete home)

Your roof looks fairly typical, typically the principle for converting such a loft would be to fit a steel beam just above your existing ceiling joists beneath each purlin, then build a structural timber stud wall off the new beams to support the purlins, then any ties or struts can be removed...
