    Friends.

Frasier is great, very cleverly written. I also enjoy How I Met Your Mother and Kerb Your Enthusiasm.

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Thanks. Don’t be too hard on yourself - your blocks are bigger and heavier than mine, and you have a restricted space to work in too!

Slow going - my double storey extension build

So onward with the block laying, have had tons of pallets of blocks delivered. I’ve gone for plasmor fibolite 7nm blocks for the exterior and thermolite 3.5nm blocks for the inside. I used the plasmors for my extension, and I like them as you can lift and lay with one hand. The 7mn isn’t needed...

I’m feeling your pain. I was laying blocks in the sunshine today too and sweating out of parts of my body that I never knew could sweat :D

Catnic Linels or UB with welded plate for longer spans (3.5 and 4.5m)?

Tony's been great and has helped me in the past. I hadn't seen him round too much lately so didn't want to trouble him.

Catnic Linels or UB with welded plate for longer spans (3.5 and 4.5m)?

Yeah, my plan is to have the roller fitted on the inside of the opening - which in thinking about it - is also another reason for needing a bit of height with the a row of blocks on either skin. I would have preferred to have it like your job, as you then get a little bit more room inside...

Catnic Linels or UB with welded plate for longer spans (3.5 and 4.5m)?

Thanks for sharing. I like the look but I’m playing with a 17.5 roof so as shallow as shallow gets. Is that garage door 2.1 high too? I would really like a flush roller door to the from like that one in your picture, but with the roller in the opening you loose 20-30mins so I’d be ducking to...

Catnic Linels or UB with welded plate for longer spans (3.5 and 4.5m)?

Good shout FMT. It's not really a cost thing for me, it's more for ease of fitting as these catnics appear to be less than 100kg. On my extension the garage beam was a similar span and was a 152 x 152 x 30 with a 250 x 8m plate and it was a bugger to move I've not yet got an SE for the ridge...

Catnic Linels or UB with welded plate for longer spans (3.5 and 4.5m)?

Hey folks, I'm in the process of building my garage with regular cavity walls, but I'm thinking ahead to the steels above the openings. I have a 3.5m span at the back for a bi-fold door and a 4.5m span at the front for the garage door opening. I'm going to have one course of blockwork above...

    Surgical wiring SWA through screed

Just be careful with that drill on the floor like that. I guess it's got a clutch, but without a handle for your other hand you need to be especially careful to watch out for if it jams and spins...you could have a risk of slamming your hand into the floor, or spraining you wrist. Not sure...

Blockwork half course & '100mm' blocks

Yep, found one from the ark  Safe to say nearly all wet cutters have a hose attachment. You keep clinging to your notion that your original post is accurate for some vague / remote situation. It’s not at all relevant to the OP’s situation. I’m embarrassed for you.

Blockwork half course & '100mm' blocks

Still going eh? No. I said I’d never seen one. Probably back in the old days before universal/hozelock-style fittings you could buy petrol cutters without one. You were keen to post up examples of electric wet cutters earlier in the thread, please feel free to spending your Sunday searching...
