    Door between kitchen and conservatory

Thay's what I was thinking, Unless there is a room stat that conrols the heating for the whole house in there I wouldn't think there would be much of a saving by switching it off. Leaving it on may also reduce the risk of condensation becoming a problem

    Flow through Brita P1000

I'm presuming 3.1 step1 is adjusting the flow rate to compensate for the hardness and prevent limescale build up.

    Radiator size offering maximum heat

Why can't you just fit a double radiator, the same dimensions you already have. it would seem to be a lot easeier than altering pipework for a larger one

    Cordless vacuum

We have a similar dyson model which is fine for upstairs use here (3 beds and bathroom). You spend most of your time in bed so shouldn't need much vacuuming.

    What's the suckiest vacuum cleaner?

That machine does not have a brush bar so I would think it would struggle with pet hair and sand in a carpet. I would say you need something with that feature and need to use it daily with pets. We have had Dyson's for a few years now and would not use anything else.

    Front door Canopy Crack

It needs to come down. What you do afterward is your choice, but it doesn't really look deep enough and seems to be too high to be effective.

    Carpet edge on staircase Question

I think Foxhole means there would be a verticle surface such as a skirting board witha gap to the gripper on the floor that the edge of carpet could be jammed into. Search for carpet fitting videos or info pages. You'll find different types of carpet grippers that might suit your requirements...

    30cm from flue to opening

I would think the concern is fumes getting into the vent, which turning through 90degrees will not alter. But perhaps removing the vent and fitting and sealing, an elbow and piece of ducting ( the same as is above the vent) and another elbow and cowl on the end of the ducting would achieve what...
