    Pre-heating shower water - Electric

That will not work as water will be too hot. You could plumb in a thermostatic blending valve to deliver water to the shower at 20 degrees or so.

    Glow worm Energy wiring

The boiler warranty is there to cover manufacturing defects and it does not cover shytty/illegal installs. If your plumber can't verify if the boiler is working or not then I would be very worried about the quality of the install. Energy heat only is very easy to test. Expect a bill from...

Dismantling a Hartley greenhouse - advice needed

There is a Hartley Botanic greenhouse for sale - Victorian Terrace style on a brick dwarf wall. Are these staightforward to dismantle or will it need a specialist and scaffolding? Presumably the glass comes out and then work from the top down... Will contact the manufacturer to see if they...

New boiler dropping pressure after heating has gone off

I feel your pain. Worcester will not give a flying frog about the way you have been treated by their approved installer. If the installer is back at yours looking into a problem then they are not out hanging yet another new worcester boiler on another wall. The installer should come out...

TBH if you fooked up a simple thermostat swap then you have no chance of mending it yourself. Over and out.

Possibly blown up Potterton Profile 50e......

Can you describe what your wiring error was on the thermostat? Have you tried wiring the boiler to the mains using a flying lead - thus eliminating any of the controls? Do not take the metal front case off the boiler under any circumstances.

Pex pipe inlet hoses - where to buy?

Customer has had a minor flood after a mouse nibbled through the inlet hose to the dishwasher. They want it replaced with one of those narrow, pex plastic type hoses. All I can see are the pliable red and blue hoses of the type found at screwfix. Looked at various sites including fleabay and...

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

Online? Locate a decent independent plumbers merchant in your area and visit them at a non-busy time. Most are very helpful. The national chains are hit and miss when it comes to counter staff.

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

18mm in every 1m is considered optimal for a vented stack so a touch over 5cm is the target. You could probably stretch it a bit more if using 50mm waste pipe.

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

if you cut/grind the lip off the tray you will ruin the tray and probably cause it to leak/crack etc 3m isn't far to go. A fall beween 1 in 40 to 1 in 60 is what you need so 5cm is needed. Use 50mm pipe if you are worried about discharge rate.

Power flush required yes or no?

Maybe ask for two years free servicing if you want to keep relations cordial with your installer...

Power flush required yes or no?

Oh...and a reduction between 200 and 300 would be realistic. Unless he is a dapper penguin in which case you want 800 off the bill.

Power flush required yes or no?

That will go down well. Put your tin hat on. And look at your quote carefully - does it say powerflush if needed or just a powerflush with no conditions attached.

Power flush required yes or no?

Vaillant are pretty decent when it comes to warranty and that boiler should be reasonably tolerant to dirt with a magnaclean installed. No need to worry. I would ask for a reduction in the bill. I would also check the magnaclean after a few weeks to see how much dirt it has caught. If it has...
